Hi I have a 1998 FZJ 105 v6 petrol Toyota 100 series landcruiser it's running rough at the moment idle is rough and when in gear at idle it shakes and when driving I get over 2000 rpm and it runs a bit smoother what could the problem be?

d/c battery for a spell. then reconnect it and stat up without touching the accelerator pedal. Let it idle and warm up and then drive it normally. If no help then consult check engine codes to see what caused it to go into limp mode.
Please make sure earth/ground points are tight and free of dirt and corrosion. especially knowing this is off road car. fuses are clean. charge relay is working correctly, main fuse CONNECTIONS are good. the fact that it happens when you move , means most likely a loose connection.
In this case there are a few things you can check. First check for a vacuum leak. There should be a vacuum diagram under your hood buy the latch. Second a fuel pressure test can be done to make sure that you are not sucking air in from a leak and it will tell if the fuel pump is good. Another pretty simple one is pull out a spark plug and check the condition they are in. Could just be a tune up is needed.
