Most cable drives for speedos are replaced by removing the cable from the drive end ( not the instrument end) and pulling the inner cable out
if the inner cable is damaged , check for kinks and squashed sections of the outer cable case as these will affect the new inner cable

F 250 speedometer cable cant seem to find it to replace, speedometer bot working

What year is the truck ? On vehicles from 1996 on ,probably doesn't have a speedo cable , it's electronic . Has a VSS - vehicle speed sensor , this VSS inputs speed info to the engine computer then to the instrument cluster over serial data network .
Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

The speedometer just hangs below the zero mark, is there a kit or a replacement gauge that can be ordered. Thank You

It is more likely that the problem is the cable and not the speedo head.
Have you checked to see that the speedometer cable from the transmission is not broken?
The cable is inside a sleeve that screws on to the back of the speedometer.
It connect to the rear of the transmission with a 7/16 or 1/2 inch bolt. Best checked form under vehicle. Remove housing from Transmission and see if inner cable pull up and is not broken.
You will have not trouble telling if it is broken. The cable is covered in grease and is 6 - 7 feet long. A new cable is about $30.
If it is not the cable, google your year, make and model vehicle and "speedometer" Used one are $30-$80 and up

I have an 1992 88 oldsmoblie and my speedometer stop working whats wrong

Unscrew the speedometer cable from the side of the transmisson. Pull the cable out of the transmisson. While someone else sits in the drivers seat and looks at the speedometer you turn the end of the cable quickly. If the speedometer doesn't move the cable is faulty. Replace it
To check the speedometer only disconnect the cable from the speedometer and insert a small screwdriver.Turn the screwdriver quickly. If the speedometer doesn't move then the speedometer is faulty and must be replaced.

Replace speedometer calbe

Replace the Speedometer Cable

1 - Remove the old speedometer cable from your car, first take off the doghouse and then the engine cover.

2 - Remove the screw underneath the dashboard and take down the steering column. This will give you access to the back of your speedometer.

3 - Take off the drive shaft bolt, and "O" ring, insert the speedometer cable through the firewall.

4 - Remove speedometer cable securing clamps from the engine compartment and on the transmission.

5 - Release the drive shaft nut from the "right angle" adapter (The nut is attached to the back of the transfer case).

Installing the Speedometer Cable

1 - Place the square end of the speedometer cable into the adapter and secure the drive shaft nut.

2 - Pull the speedometer cable through the firewall to the rear of the speedometer.

3 - Secure the "O" ring and attach the speedometer cable to the rear of the speedometer/odometer. It should be engaged in the speedometer's square hold. Tighten the drive shaft nut again.

4 - Replace the clamps that will secure the speedometer cable onto the transmission and in the engine compartment. Replace the engine cover.

5 - Drive your car slowly to be sure your speedometer is working properly. If it is, replace the doghouse. If you're stilling having problems, take the car to your mechanic.
