1984 Honda interceptor brake light

The tail light on the motorcycle works just fine, but the brake lights don't work. Not sure where to start looking for a problem.

Check the bulb first, check fuses, thn check if theres 'live' current to the brake light wire to the bulb socket (using a tester).
If theres no 'live' current to the bulb socket thn proceed to the brake light switch and check for the 'live' current to the wires there, one of the wires there should have a 'live' current of course having the igntion switch 'on'.
If theres is 'live' current there, thn the switch is faulty it may just need cleaning, try to clean by using WD-40,if it doesn't help thn replace it.
If you still have no 'live' current on any of the wires to the brake switch thn trace the wire (color) from the rear light socket and follow to the fuse box / ignition switch.
Hope this helps!

My brake lights work but my tail lights and reverse lights don't work. Also my dash lights quit when I changed the switch for my headlights.

Check your fuses. I had the same problem with a 90 Honda civic. Dash lights went out, tail lights also went out. Replaced 1 fuse and all came back on.

I can't answer your question but I reckon if you find and look at any Honda wiring diagram around that year it could provide some clues - the wiring colours are likely to be the same...

My 2003 750 shadow spirit tail light/brake light is always on

Ensure the bulb is correctly fitted!!

You must have a foot hand brake switch mal-adjusted / faulty. back them both off (If possible) and it should extinguish.

Does it still work with headlamps off?? If so then one of the switches are faulty / need adjusting.

84 honda shadow 700 vt lights are unpredictable

There seems to be some short in the circuit of the high beam, you will have to follow the high beam wiring, best would be to get the color of the high beam wire frm the head light bulb socket and trace it along you will sure find somwhere the along it the short.
Check the light switch and the blinker switch too.
Hope this helps!

Rear brake light will not come on when rear brake is applied

If your brake lights are not coming when pressing the foot brake this means that there is something wrong with the switch..Have a closer look near the brake lever and you will see a spring attached to it which in turn is connected to the brake switch..Try to pull it down and if you see your brake lights working then you only need to adjust the spring setting..Else try to make a manual close connection and if it goes on then replace the switch..
