SOURCE: my truck blows white smoke

Hello!
There are two differnt reasons for black and white smoke coming from the tail pipe.
Black smoke means fuel runs rich (car getting to much gas). Check fuel pressure/air filter.
In some cases the white smoke means car is burning oil or transmittion fluid. Have tem checked/replaced.
If you can feel a smelly smoke it can be catalytic converter.
In a worsest scenario if car blowing white smoke it can be engine coolant is getting into an engine cylinder from a bad head gasket ,or a warped/cracked head. So you need to keep your eye on coolant level and check your engine for overheat. Also might be good to check your oil for traces of coolant (on a dipstick it would be a milky substance mixture of oil and coolant).
Good Luck

SOURCE: 325i BMW emitting white smoke

You are smelling burning antifreeze. likely a head gasket but only testing will determine that for sure...Do not drive it. get it to a shop or more damage is likely.

SOURCE: white smoke on startup, missing, shaking, no codes

this sounds like you have an injector leaking and is dripping raw fuel into the combustion chamber this would explain the miss and the white smoke.

SOURCE: 2002 civic ex overheating

with your description it sounds like your fans are not coming on, also sounds like the problem was never solved, sounds like you threw a lot of money at your problem also... check to see if the fans are coming on at the right times, seems like a n air movement over the radiator since you say it only gets hot in stop and go traffic... well when your driving at a constant highway speed guess what you have air movement through the radiator... check also a clogged ac condensor with bugs, pressure wash it out so the air can pass through it easily... please rate my help thanks

Why is a very strong gas smell coming from my tailpipe?

White smoke is water vapor and in this cold climate it is normal. Strong gas smell is not normal although you may smell some while engine is warming up. Bad cat converter can produce smells, but usually more like rotten eggs. If engine is running rough and seems rich, check coolant temp sensor. Bad converter can cause stalling too. Otherwise, idle speed is controlled by idle air contol motor which can get dirty and stick. Any codes set?

I drive a opel monza 1. 8 my car idle when i start it but when im on the road driveing its alright but when i stop by robots it dies start it will idle its only when i stop then it dies can it be my carb...

I had a diagnostic test @ 1place they said 2 cylinders were not giving full compression and that was causing the white smoke when it gets hot ,,,Place # 2 thinks the water pump is going bad ,,The coil suspecting may also be correct ..I drove it to wal mart and back ,,ran awesome ,,then got almost hot ,,here came that smoke again ,,No water in the oil ,,no leaks under the vehicle ?? Could this be a water pump issue ..Thanks

Car running hot, white smoke coming out of tailpipes when stopped but none while driving.

Most likely a leaky head gasket , the white smoke indicates coolant is getting into combustion chamber/ cylinder(s)

could also indicate a cracked or warped head most often
caused by over heating

2001 s10 did not overheat but lost power, coasted to stop, white smoke from tailpipe and engine. What could this be?

The white smoke is probably steam caused by coolant getting into the cylinder(s) either from a faulty head gasket, cracked cylinder head or cracked engine block. The loss of heat from the heater indicated that coolant was being lost..

I ran my chev. 1990 pickup out of oil and now it smokes so bad. and i think my fuel pump is going out but not sure??

Sounds like you may have ruined the piston rings and this is allowing oil to seep in to the combustion chamber hence your smoke. Or if it overheated when you ran out of oil it is possible that you have a bad head gasket now. Check both your coolant and oil for signs, oil will have a white froth, or darkening of your coolant. Hope that helps you.

Black smoke comes from exhuast when engine gets hot

black smoke is raw gas burning. a rich condition could be the cause---a bad oxygen sensor, a bad map sensor, a bad fuel pressure regulator, a plugged up air filter, or bad injector. if it was a oil problem then you can smell it. when after running til hot. shut off engine and rub finger around inside of tailpipe to tell! have a good one!!

Gas and Temperature gage sometimes does not work - 2002 dodge neo

Seems like you might have a couple of problems. First the gas gauge, check your fuses to see if they are still good. Then check the wiring as you may have a short or a bad ground. Lastly if everything checks out then you may have faulty sensor in the gas pump housing in the gas tank, and or faulty temperature sending unit located on the motor. As for your your overheating issue you may have a head gasket leak which these little motors are prone to having, or just a general coolant leak. I deduced this because you're constantly having to refill with water. You have a leak somewher, but to narrow it down to your head gasket check your oil to see if it's got coolant in it. It will look like chocolate milk and may even smell like coolant. Also check your tailpipe with the car running in park and up to operating temp, if you see white smoke coming out the tailpipe that white smoke isn't smoke but water vapor, caused by water entering the combustion chamber from the leaking head gasket and exiting the exhaust. Also you may have a faulty fan switch on your radiator. This would cause your engine to heat up drastically in bumper to bumper traffic because when you're driving cool air is rushing through your radiator, and when you slow down and stop so does the air flow, and if your fan doesn't kick in your radiator isn't able to do it's job and cool the coolant. Hope this helps.
