DeJevu! I thought I answered this already. Anyway, I'll do it again. The first thing I'd try is putting new bulbs in the turn signal lights. Use the proper bulb called for in the books. This is a pretty inexpensive test.

Next, you didn't say whether or not it was both sides or just one side that was not blinking. The turn signals are controlled by the turn signal cancelling unit. I'd try to find someone that had a known good unit that would allow me to try the unit to see if that fixed the problem. I say this because the units are expensive. The last one I replaced costs about $150.

Oh yeah, on the Softail, I think the "tilt switch" located in the speedometer is involved in cancelling the turn signals as well. If the switch is stuck in the closed position, it may be cancelling the turn signal as soon as you set it. The switch is not in the circuit for the four way flashers. You'd have to look at a schematic to tell for certain. Sorry, I don't have one for a Softail.

Rear turn signals wont blink

If you don't have front turn signals, the rear won't flash, as they're wired in series.

If you replaced the turn signals with LEDs, then yes, a load equalizer is usually needed.

Hooked up LED lights front and rear turn signals with brake light. Brake lights and rear turn signals worked until I hooked up front turn signals. Now rear turn signals not working but brake light is

Usually when you install LEDs, because of the difference in the voltage draw, to work correctly you need to install a "load equalizer".

Do the rear turn signals light, but not flash?
If so, that's most likely the problem.

I have a 1980 Harley FXE which I converted to a wide glide. My issue is that I installed led turn signals and I can't get the signals to flash. They'll light up but the flasher will not function to...

indicator cans need a good current flow to work and as LED units use next to no current that is probably the lights do not flash
if the new unit doesn't work , then talk with an auto electrician to see what ballast is needed for the led lights

Turn signals will not work on 1991 electra glide when you apply the front brake there is a clicking noise from a module under the seat

The clicking you hear may be an add-on module that makes both rear turn signals into brake lights. Remove the seat, locate the clicking module and remove it, it should be about 2.5" long and about 2" wide and 1/2" thick, then put the plugs back together w/o the module and try the blinkers. One on of the module is female the other male to help locate it, but it's one of the few connectors that are quite big under the seat. Harley sells these or they did, as well as a couple aftermarket makers. I have one on my FLHT.
