Most electrical appliances are fitted with a device to prevent them emitting radio frequency interference. Some such devices do not age well or resist spikes or surges in the supply.

The problem could be with that device. I notice they tend to produce white smoke when they fail, whereas wiring and motors, switches and suchlike tend to produce an altogether darker and more acrid smoke.

Testimonial: "Thanks for ur response. Probably surges in the supply. Mower was recently purchased so it still fairly new."

The mower was recently purchased, so it is still new

In that case it will be under guarantee and whatever is wrong will be a problem for the retailer you bought it from rather than you. I suggest you return it for exchange or refund as soon as possible.

My lawnmower started to flutter till it died while shooting white smoke. Any suggestions?

The white smoke points to the oil and fouled spark plugs.
Make sure the oil level is according to the gauge.

I have a Sunbeam electric lawn mower model RE70. I made the mistake of tackling very long, deep grass. Smoke came out and the blade stopped turning. I want to take the 8 amp motor casing apart, but after...

I feel you have burnt the motor out. You cannot over work an electric motor with out doing damage. The smoke tells me you have burnt it.
Sorry They are not made for long grass. An electrition tells me electric motors are not made to take apart.

White smoke and blade won't engage

Sounds like a low compression problem. The piston rings have most likely failed and oil is seeping past them and burning, thus the white smoke. An engine needs three things to run...Spark, Compression, and Fuel. Just take the mower back as it is still probably under warranty. Mike. Rate 100% please.

Lawnmower is spewing white smoke

white smoke means that there is water in the fuel air mixture during combustion. a bluish white smoke means oil is being burned during combustion. take another look and make sure which one it is. since all mowers ive seen are air cooled the only way water can be getting in the fuel air mixture is through the gas cap. check your gas tank and gas can for water. may be best to empty both and start over with fresh fuel

Lawn mower engine runs rough and puts out white smoke

Pull the carburetor and clean it for staters.Be sure to change oil any little bit of moisture in the crankcase will let it smoke white by seeping by the valves and piston rings. Also put a little small amount of dry gas in the gas tank to rid all of the water that may have been left in the tank. I some of this will help you.
