to be honest the enigne ahas a control that the left side must fire and run before the right starts to fire it sounds to me like you have a fuel issue possibly the carb. is gummed up and dirty.
I have a 2006 simplicity it runs amazing and lows great however when I'm mowing an hour or so into mowing oil pressure comes across the digital screen on dashboard and then it just dies stops running after a minute or two it starts right back up and will do it as gain and again. Amy advice on everyone's experience or knowledge would be appreciated thank you
Hi, based on what you have said the problem is with the fuel shut off solenoid in the bottom of the carby (if equipped). Or the voltage supply to the solenoid. The solenoid must have 12 volts to it when the key is in the start and run positions and should click when turned on and off. The fire may have damaged the wiring or connection on the key switch. Hope this helps, regards Phil
Hello, W/D here. Check the pinhole vent in the fuel filler cap. As fuel is removed when the engine is running, air is pulled into the tank. If the vent is blocked, a vacuum is formed, and fuel cannot flow. After a period of down time, air infiltrates back into the tank, and the engine can be re-started. You can test this out just by cracking the cap open after starting the engine, just enough to allow air to get into the tank. Best regards, --W/D--
I would scan for engine codes to look for any clues. Then look at fuel mix, air flow, O2 sensors. All if this will provide information to tell you where to start.
Out of the blue guess is that you have and air leak in the throttle body, plug not firing right, dirty fuel filter, etc. Something starting to fail but not totally gone yet.
Honda engines have an oil sensor that sometimes fails. It will cause this. If the sensor fails it is like not having enough oil and will kill the engine for protection. Just something to look into. Hope this helps
brad, if it runs for a bit and dies it has to be a fuel problem. i would take the carburetor off and clean it real good with carburetor cleaner. go ahead and put a rebuild kit in it. they are fairly cheap. check the fuel lines that they are not dry and cracked. blow out the fuel filter or replace. blow out the fuel tank make sure it is flowing correctly. some have screens in the bottom that plug up. the 2 wire thing on the bottom of the bowl is a fuel shut off valve. if the key is turned off it will push up on the needle stopping the flow of fuel. a anti back fire valve. gently pull up on the black piece you will see sticking up in the bowl. if it comes off easily it will need replaced or cut off. it may be coming off while running causing it to run out of fuel and die. after it sets for a second it looses its suction and falls back in position letting fuel back in the carburetor so it will run for a few more minutes . dont pry it or pull it off just be sure it is not loose.
