SOURCE: stator area

1) It's a 4-stroke, the stator cover helps hold the engine oil in that's circulating the crankcases. I can't think of any situation where I would want to run that engine with that cover off and the oil draining out...come on guys wake the f up.
2) I agree with solution #2.

How to remove and replace the stator from a champion generator

You don't state what model you have. I just replaced the rotor on a Champion Model 41302 but removing the stator is the same process.

You will need to remove the muffler and muffler outer protection. Remove the bolts that hold the muffler outer protection. Remove the two bolts that hold muffler to the engine exhaust.

Take a block of wood and place it under the engine to support the generator. The supports on the generator head end will be removed so the generator will tip down and make it difficult to remove the stator.

Remove the generator end cover by removing two bolts.

Remove the ground from generator to wiring cable assembly by removing the bolt that connects it to the end cover. Yellow and green wire in picture above.

Remove the bolt from DC brush assembly and pull out of generator. Picture below shows assembly removed.

The stator and cover now can be removed from the generator. Take a rubber mallet to tap on the back of the brackets on the end cover to loosen it. The rotor bearing is seated in the end cover making it hard to remove by pulling by hand. Once lose pull straight out.

The stator can now be removed from the generator end by taking the four bolts out.

The installation process is the reverse.

How do i remove the ststor from my ktm mxc 300

Disconect the stator wiring coming from the engine cover, drain oild if its a wet coil, remove engine cover, remove fly wheel (will need a puller or flywheel removal tool witch threads into the fly wheel inner thread and pops it off when you screw the bolt down the inner thread of the puller) remove the stator bolts and thats you.

Stator area

I'm not familiar with that particular bike, but usually there's no problem with starting it with the cover off. If the repair would require any structural strength JB Weld wouldn't be satisfactory. Epoxy or JB Weld would be ok if you just needed to fill up a crack or hole to keep out moisture.

How to change an alternator on a 2002 falcon

Remove the gas tank and unplug the wires that come from the left engine cover and go up to the wire harness. Remove the bolts for the end of the starter motor and the ones that attach the left engine cover to the engine. Pull the engine cover straight out until the stator coils attached to it are clear of the flywheel. Remove the three screws that attach the stator coils to the engine cover.

How to change an alternator on 2002 r1

If you are talking about the stator, you need to remove the left engine side cover, remove the bolt that is holding the fly wheel to the crankshaft, then use a flywheel puller to get the flywheel off the crankshaft, then remove the 3 screws holding the stator to the cases. Unplug the electrical connection for the stator and reverse the procedure for reassembly. Use a new gasket, and be sure to apply Yamabond 4 to the case cover across the rubber plug for the wires and extend the yamabond down the cover gasket surface about 1" past the rubber on each side.
Use some lock tite when putting the screws back in to the new stator. You do not want them coming loose on you!
Make sure you get the bolt holding the flywheel tight when going back together.
That should fix you up!

Le error code

LE indicates a fault with the motor on the appliance.

LG suggest you switch off, wait for a minute, unplug the appliance.

Wait 15 minutes then plug it back in again.

Try the machine again.

If it's still faulty, you can try changing the Hall Sensor in the motor, this can sometimes cure the problem.

Unplug the machine and remove the rear cover. There are 4 Philips head screws. Take them out and remove the rear cover.

You should now see the rear of the motor, which is mounted to the back of the drum.

In the middle is a large bolt which holds the stator cover.

You'll need a 17mm socket and a ratchet to remove this bolt.

Remove the stator cover and place aside.

Toward the bottom-left, you will see a couple of wire bunches held to the motor by three screws. One holds a metal bracket, one actually holds a ground wire, and the last is through a plastic bracket toward the bottom. Remove these three screws and don't lose them.

Through the motor there are 6 bolts holding it onto the back of the drum assembly.

You'll need a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove them.

You will now have the motor off the back of the drum.

Disconnect the two wire harnesses from the motor.

Looking at the surface of this motor that was facing the DRUM (not the outside), you'll see two small pieces clipped onto it, toward the bottom.

The sensor you are looking to replace is the one that looks like a kitchen magnet.

It is attached by small clips. You'll see how it goes on. It's easy to remove.

Go to google and search for part number 6501KW2002A.

This will bring up an LG sensor assembly.

Double check with the supplier that this is the sensor for your appliance.

When you receive the sensor, simply reverse steps 1 through 5.

Once re assembled, try the machine again.

If still the same after this you'll need to replace the motor and/or control board.

Stator repair

from what I am reading I should not be surprised. I was going to take it out and either rebuild it or get one off of Ebay but at first glance it looks more complicated than I thought. I have completed an electrical check regulator/stator connections look great but only get 5-22 vac off of stator and not consistent with rpm. How do I remove the stator? Any gaskets or things I should be careful of? Any pics out there of the covers removed? ,I think the stators on the 98's are oddballs, in that they produce a different wattage then others. New have more wattage, older ones have less. Either way, it's pretty much the same for replacement. You'll need to pull the left side case cover, to do that you need a case puller tool or you can make one. You can't get it off with a screwdriver or chisle. Well, maybe you can, but it'll be FUBAR. A puller plate bolts to the exiting holes for the crank shaft cover plate, 5 mm countersunk maybe? Between those two holes is a tapped hole, like 1/2-13 or 5/8-11 x 2 long bolt. That bolt will screw against the crankshaft, pulling the left side cover off. The plate thickness should be 3/8 steel or 1/2 aluminum. Throughly clean the engine cases. Remove shift linkage, clutch slave, drain radiator and all the bolts holding the left side cover on. There are a lot (15 -16?) make sure you get them all, especially near the countershaft sprocket and clutch slave area. The cover should slide off the engine dowel pins with a minimal amount of muscle on a 8 adjustable wrench. If not, you missed a bolt. Some oil will leak out when the cover is removed. The stator is held in the case cover by two or three bolts. Measure the height of stator in the case for reference. It should slide out of the case with the bolts removed. It's a tight fit, but not a press fit. Try these guys for rewinding or they may have a replacement stator in stock. www.ricksmotorsportelectrics.com Reassemble in reverse. Make sure the stator sits squarly in the case, not cocked to one side. Confirm the measured height. The stator/magnet will pull the cover off center. Use a rubber mallet to tap the cover into place, using the dowel pins for visual alignment. I use permatex blue to seal the case when reassembling. It's not that difficult to do, just time consuming, maybe 3 - 4 hours to get the cover off.,,,
