Hi all, I'm hoping someone here can help or advise The belt on my washing machine recently started slipping off, I had initially thought that the belt was stretched and replaced it but the problem persisted I had a repair guy from Samsung over and he quoted to replace the bearing kit & seals, Hub kit and tub seal but the quote was ridiculously high Question is firstly, Are these the parts needed for the problems I'm having and if so where can I source the parts and how hard is it to change out the parts?, Note that I am in South Africa, Thanks.
If the drive belt is v section the reason for coming off will be pulley misalignment
easy to check with a straight edge
check that the belt fits in the pulley so that the top of the belt is level with the pulley edge
Hi, Thank you
I will check that, How do I fix this if it is the problem?
that will depend on what you find
if the pulleys are on the same plane but one is at an angle to the other( most likely the motor pulley)it may be possible that the motor motor mounts are worn or the motor is misaligned so the fix will be to get the motor back in alignment
I see that it is a front loader so the motor should be laying on its side in line with the tub
that may mean the the tub is at an angle to the motor
( falling down at the front) rather than the motor being at an angle to the tub as in a top loader
That would make sense of the quote in requiring new bearings
possibly now is the time to get in a second opinion from an accredited washing machine repair shop other than samsung and if the quote runs along the same lines of the original one then maybe consideration of a new or replacement machine might be in order
Thank you Bill

Also make sure you have proper belt tension a loose belt will fly off
Testimonial: "I think the belt is fine, Its really a struggle to get it on and there's no slack on the belt once fitted"

You might want to consider a new machine or check into warranty on that machine?
that bad?
