If your old engine/control has the same 'options' as the30hp, yes everything is compatible... (Electric start or trim )
The throttle and shift cables are allways compatible...
Look up Saving Old Seagulls and IGNORE the rubbish that some jokers have posted (Seagulls don't have an engine check light!) Most Seagulls have constant mesh gearing. Lubrication is by 140 grade gear oil. If you cannot get this, ST90, EP90 or Hypoy 90 will do, the important thing is to use a heavy oil NOT GREASE not even the semi-fluid grease used on weed-wackers (they have ball bearings but a Seagull has bronze bushes) The "clutch" on some Seagulls is basically a fork which puts the gears out of mesh, there are no clutch plates. Hi, basically it depends on the control box you have. On some you can fit the shift cable in 2 different positions, each one alters whether the cable pushes or pulls when you shift the gear lever. On others it cant be changed(not common). Regards Phil.
