Question about 2003 Suzuki GSX-R 600

I have a 2008 GSX-R that bogs down when you throttle into it. I've changed the plugs, bypassed the kickstand sensor, cleaned the fuel filter and also adjusted the throttle position sensor

1993 Suzuki GSX-R 1100 carburetor tuning with a Dyno Jet Kit


Hi, Trevor if you have changed your engine size, compression ratio, fuel delivery system, air filter size or flow rate, mufflers or exhaust system or a significant change in altitude your carburetors need re-tuning and if your fuel system (gas tank, filters, fuel valve, and carburetor) is contaminated with ethanol sludge, varnish, rust, dirt, water etc. or your bike has been sitting for months or years without running these components must be "PROPERLY" cleaned and reassembled "CORRECTLY" before any adjustments can be made. Tuning your carburetor is fairly simple once you understand the basic principals. You engine is a simple airbox sucking air in and blowing it out, it is finely tuned at the factory for maximum performance once you upset that delicate balance by changing air filters, camshafts or exhaust systems your performance may go down the and the engine may run poorly, you need to compensate the air-fuel mixture in the carburetor in order for the engine to run smoothly and at peak performance. If you are running multi carburetors you need to sync them first and make sure your air cleaner element is clean and dry for paper elements or lightly oiled for foam and meshed elements and properly installed. Here is how and where you compensate trouble: "TIP" if your engine "BOGS" you're not getting enough fuel.
1. Close to 1/8 throttle is managed by the air screw and pilot/slow jet.
2. 1/8 to 1/4 throttle is managed by the air-screw, pilot/slow jet, and throttle slide.
3. 1/4 to 1/2 throttle is managed by the throttle slide and jet needle.
4. 1/2 to 3/4 throttle is managed by the jet needle, needle jet, main jet, and air jet.
5. 3/4 to wide open throttle is managed by the main jet and air jet.
6. A wide open throttle is managed by the main jet.
If you are running lean, spark plug electrode color is white, engine runs hot and feels like it is starving for fuel you need to go up on the jet size or move the c-clip down one notch. If you are running rich, spark plug color is black or dark gray, the engine runs cool, and bogs down when accelerating you need to go down on jet size or move the c-clip up one notch. When your carburetor is properly tuned for maximum performance your spark plug electrode will be a light tan color like coffee with cream. If you prefer fuel economy over performance you can go down on main jet sizes until a satisfactory level of lower performance is acceptable versus MPH, your spark plug color will be whiter and your engine will run warmer. These tuning adjustments will only make improvements if your intake and exhaust system have no air leaks or sealing issues and the entire electrical system is in proper working order and you have no mechanical issues.

2008 Suzuki GSF650 when I accelerate it bogs, I cleaned the throttle body and changed the plugs I was wondering if the TPS sensor is faulty or out of adjustment


Hi, Brooks and the usual suspects are:
1. Spark plugs in bad condition or partially fouled.
2. Spark plug cables in bad condition and leaking check for spark leakage in the dark.
3. Spark plug gap too close or too wide.
4. Faulty ignition coil, module, and or sensor.
5. Battery nearly discharged.
6. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
7. Intermittent short circuit due to damaged wire insulation.
8. Intake air leak.
9. Water, dirt, or rust in the fuel system, fuel pump and/or filter.
10. Old dead or bad fuel.
11. Faulty fuel pressure regulator
12. Pinholes in the in tank plastic convoluted tubing from the pressure regulator to the quick disconnect check valve.
13. Fuel tank vent system plugged.
14. Throttle body controls misadjusted.
15. Damaged throttle body or intake seals.
16. Loose, dirty, or corroded ignition module connector at crankcase.
17. Faulty MAP, CKP, O2, and/or CMP sensors.
18. Incorrect valve timing.
19. Weak or broken valve springs.
20. Damaged intake or exhaust valve.
21. Check for engine trouble codes.

On Honda 2009 Shadow Aero, Engine "bogs down" at top of throttle. I've cleaned gas tank, carb, fuel line.


Have you cleaned the carb power jets and blown them and there passages out with compressed air?.

1. Fuel tank empty.
2. The fuel tank has old dead gas.
3. Fuel tank bottom contaminated with ethanol sludge, dirt, water,
rust, etc.
4. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
5. Fouled spark plugs.
6. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enrichner.
7. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
8. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
9. Fuel line to carburetor or throttle body pinched, kinked or blocked.
10. Carburetor float stuck.
11. Fuel injectors clogged.
12. Fuel injectors stuck open.
13. A severely discharged or damaged battery, you need 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
14. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
15. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil or plug between ignition sensor and ECM module.
16. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting check for spark leakage in the dark, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
17. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty ignition coil, ignition module or MAP, CMP, CKP, O2, TPS, ETP, IAC sensors.
18. Faulty neutral, clutch lever, or kickstand safety switch.
19. Faulty fuel pump or fuse or relay.
20. A stuck bent or burnt valve.
21. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
22. Security system not disarming alarm needs a reset.
23. Check for engine trouble codes.

I have a 1997 ford f350 with a 7.5 gas engine. 128,000 miles. When I step on the gas with or without a towing load the motor bogs down for about 10 seconds then pics up speed and clears out. Almost like...


My 7.5 F-250 was doing similar, so I checked for vacuum leaks, none present. Then I replaced TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) . That seemed to be the problem, but go ahead and clean the MAF also. don-ohio (:^)

When i push the gas pedal the bogs down almost as if i am out of gas


Could be several things wrong. One your fuel pressure may be low which means it could be a bad fuel pump. Have you changed the fuel filter lately? Also could be throttle position sensor. Does it recover after it bogs down? have you changed plugs or wires?
