Radiator fan switch ???? has relays ,high speed cooling fan relay an engine cooling fan relay an a cooling fan resistor . A coolant temp. sensor . The temp sensor is a input to the PCM - engine computer ,when temp gets to hot the PCM energizes the relays . There is no radiator fan switch . My 1999 Cougar started running hot and I took it to my mechanic and he found that the water pump belt was broke. Replaced belt and all is well. Hope this help.

remove the trim panel below the glove box and you will see the blower motor,just to the left of it you will see a 4 wire connector plugged into the case. This is the blower motor resistor,this is what you need to replace.

Sounds like a blown head gasket .But thats easy bad relay switch or coolant temp switch or bad resistor.
