If it isnt the spark plug

is this the same aldi mower
Gardening with Rik unboxing and review of the Gardenline Aldi lawnmower
how much work has it done
did you tip the mower over the wrong way and oil got into the valve cover or carby

the carby is a metal bowl with a 10 mm drain nut
undo that see if fuel is clean and flowing

best bet is it needs a carby clean or throttle cable adjustment
maybe even a govenor adjustment

I have a Cub Cadet LT 1040 I started it yesterday it smoked real bad runs for like 30 seconds and dies. It will start back up smoke and die. I looked and oil was leaking around the muffler?

if it starts and runs for 30 seconds that is a fuel issue. carb needs cleaned or rebuilt. fuel filter , bad fuel lines. if it is smoking that is maybe to much oil, bad head gasket, valve sticking and letting oil seep into combustion chamber. it may also be that the needle isnt seating properly and leaking gas into the oil. you have a lot of testing to do to find the cause.

Can I use sae30 instead of sae10w/30 motor oil on Aldi 1441cc lawnmower

yes
it is a single viscosity oil (30 grade)
it is more advisable to use the multi grade oil as it is better when the engine heats up or the ambient temp is cold

I HAVE A CRAFTSMAN GARDEN TRACTOR WITH A KHOLER ENGINE MODEL CV730-0029. WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING IT SMOKES QUITE A LOT. I CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS, FUEL FILTER, AIR FILTER, OIL FILTER AND OIL AND I

First you need resolve the carburetor issue. With it leaking fuel it can flooding the engine causing it to smoke. The leaking can dilute the engine oil by overfilling the crankcase causing smoking and other damage, Once carburetor issue is resolve and it still smokes the initial 10 minute start-up after the rebuild then a compression and leak down will need to done to determine if you have blown head gasket, bad rings, or other problems.

CARBURETOR LEAKING OIL AND SMOKING

IT is likely that the carb is leaking fuel and filling the crankcase with fuel. Causing excessive crankcase pressure forcing oil into airbox through the crankcase vent. Check your crankcase for fuel and/ or being overfilled. If fuel is present fix the carb first, then drain and refill crankcase. After all is fixed run the unit outside for a few minutes and let it burn off excess smoke.

How do i stop the back firing and get it started

I had possibly the same problem with my lawn tractor about a month ago... I tried removing the carburetor and cleaning it, but I always ended up pushing debris into another area and creating new problems. Eventually I just bought a new carburetor, changed the oil (some gas had gotten into my oil thanks to the problems I had with my carburetor), cleaned the spark plug, emptied the oil filter and replaced it, checked the air filter ((no oil there, phew)... and it seems to be running fine after 3 engine hours (knock on wood).

My backstory is the lawn tractor was sitting in the garage with our car for two years and not used. I prepped it for long term storage, but failed to drain the carburetor of old gas, so the old gas gummed up the works (even with fuel stabilizer). When I did get it running (after changing everything listed above) a lot of smelly white smoke kept coming out, but as I let it idle in fast speed the engine strokes became more regular and the bouts of white smoke became fewer and shorter until the smoke stopped altogether.

Hopefully this helps!

18.5 briggs stratton runs a few seconds then starts smokeing then stops smokeing then starts smokeing again

check the oil level see if its overfilled and smalls like gas if so the needle valve in the carb is not seating replace the needle and seat add a **** off to the fuel line and change the oil gas leaks passed the needle valve overfills the carb and drains into the cylinder and crank case run the carb out of gas by shutting off the fuel line and run it til it stalls out every time your done using it

Lawnmower is spewing white smoke

white smoke means that there is water in the fuel air mixture during combustion. a bluish white smoke means oil is being burned during combustion. take another look and make sure which one it is. since all mowers ive seen are air cooled the only way water can be getting in the fuel air mixture is through the gas cap. check your gas tank and gas can for water. may be best to empty both and start over with fresh fuel
