SOURCE: cruise control wont work
Has the clutch safety switch been bypassed? - Does the bike start without the clutch pulled in? if so replace the clutch safety switch, most common cause of the Cruise not working, Remember that you must be in 5th gear, clutch & break levers out, foot off the break pedal, throttle twist grip not below idle - into the spring loaded portion below idle (There is a switch in there to turn the cruise to standby), The cruise switch on the right switch block is on. Any more than this, refer to www.suzukicavalcade.com and join the email group.

The wires from the Stator to the Regulator/rectifier do get very hot. Remember that the stator always puts out maximum power and the reg/rect shunts what ever your bike does not use to ground. A very wasteful thing to do, but that is what Suzuki decided to do with most of their models. There is a yahoo email group for these bikes joined through a link at suzukicavalcade.com - try it.

The compressor does work with the seat air controls.so its not the compressor
The auto level system does what you describe if the rear suspension is in the preset level position. Light comes on when button pressed and nothing happens. Or it is too high - say you leveled it with a passenger or load and now you are trying to reeve it. Then the compressor will not operate. Another thing to be aware of is the system does not operate ir the side stand or main stand are down, the bike is not in neutral. Hope these help. Check out the Facebook Suzuki Cavalcade group.
