2006 Suzuki Boulevard 650 s40 heard a loud noise then the bike died, have power to the battery cause all lights work, but it won't start just makes a clicking noise

No, the original bike was the Savage introduced in 1986 with 4 speed box. Discontinued in 1989. Resurfaced as the Boulevard in 1995 with a 5 speed box. The 2006 model stills has a 5 speed box.
the battery can be charged whilst still in the bike ,2or 3rd gear as a push start is best ,you can use a jumpstart cable from a larger battery but this can cause problems with other electrical parts so proceed with caution ,but you can do it with a car battery without the motor running and do not over crank the engine to start it if it wont start after a few turns as it would normanly start stop cranking let the starter cool down then try again .hope this helps
Turn off ignition. Disconnect battery terminal leads, ensure fluid levels are ok, connect charger leads. It is best if you remove battery so you can give it a clean and save your bike if something is amiss somewhere and it erupts or leaks when charging.
