I tried to reset the TSSM module after I had an unsuccessful attempt to install LED turn signals. However I cannot get past step 5 of the reset process Turn signals flash 10-12 times instead of twice

Step # 1. move handle bar kill switch to off position step # 2. turn your ignition key: on-off, on-off then on step # 3. hit the left turn signal twice. your turn signals and indicator light will flash 1 - 3 flashes step # 4. hit the right turn signal once. turn signals and indicator light will flash once. step # 5. hit the right turn signal once. turn and indicator signals will flash twice. step # 6. hit right turn signal once. turn and indicator signals will flash three times. step # 7. hit left turn signal once. turn and indicator signals flash to indicate error code (see error code thread) step # 8. to now clear codes, hit left turn signal and hold down for 6 seconds until confirmation. turn and indicator signals flash twice. step # 9. turn the ign switch to off and you're done

SOURCE: tv won't turn on. power indicator light comes on then goes off after about three seconds, then retries twice more then locks out.

That is what these sets will try to do if the power supply detects a short. The set will try three times to come on then shut down again till you pull the plug or press the power again. It is not really a diagnostic code. Most likly your problem is the horizontal output transistor and or the flyback transformer. Very common problem for this set. good Luck Please do not forget to rate this thread.

Find the ground wire on one of the lights and add another ground wire to a good clean metal surface and see if that fixes the problem. It defently sounds like a ground problem at one of the lights.

one of the left turn signal bulbs is burned out. turn them on and look to see which one is out when you see one not on replace it and you are up and running again.

try replacing the signal light flasher that should solve your problem, if it does not then the signal swith needs replacing, most of the time its the flsher,start with that hope this helps,good luck.

Where is the fuse located that activates the seatbelt alarm for my 2008 mercury mariner.


There is not a single fuse just for the seat belt alarm .
The instrument cluster provides the warning chime function. The instrument cluster uses various inputs to determine when to sound the warning chime. The warning chime sounds if:
  • the headlamps are left on with the ignition switch in the OFF position and the driver door is ajar.
  • the key is in the ignition with the ignition switch in the OFF position and the driver door is ajar.
  • the transaxle is not in the PARK (P) position and the driver door is ajar.
  • a door is ajar while the ignition switch is in the RUN position.
  • the safety belts are not fastened and the ignition switch is in the RUN position.
  • the turn signal is on for more than 3.2 km (2 miles).
  • the parking brake is engaged and the vehicle is moving more than 5 km/h (3 mph).
  • the ignition switch is in the RUN position and a secondary air bag warning chime request is received from the restraints control module (RCM).
  • the ignition switch is in the ON position with the transaxle in the PARK (P) position and the driver door is ajar (Hybrid).
An audible signal is provided to indicate when the turn or hazard signal is on.

Safety Belt Minder Deactivating/Activating
Preparation
  1. Apply the parking brake before deactivating/activating the belt minder.
  1. Place the gear selector lever in PARK or NEUTRAL (manual transaxle).
  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  1. Close all the vehicle doors.
  1. Unbuckle the driver safety belt.
  1. Place the parking lamps/headlamps switch in the OFF position.

Deactivating/Activating
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. (Do not start the engine.)
  1. Wait until the safety belt warning lamp turns off (approximately 1 to 2 minutes).
  1. NOTE: Steps 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt warning indicator turns off. For seating position being disabled, at a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending with the safety belt in the unbuckled state. After this step, the air bar warning indicator illuminates for 3 seconds.
  1. Within 10 seconds after the air bar warning indicator turns off, at a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
    • This disables the safety belt minder feature for that seating position, if it is currently enabled. As confirmation, the air bar warning indicator flashes 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
    • This enables the safety belt minder feature for that seating position, if it is currently disabled. As confirmation, the air bag warning indicator flashes 4 times per second for 3 seconds followed by another flash sequence of 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
  1. After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.

How do I clear the fault codes on a 2012 Harley road glide.


The IM (instrument module) is capable of displaying DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes).
Speedometer Self Diagnostics: The speedometer is capable of displaying and clearing
speedometer, tachometer, TSM/TSSM and ICM/ECM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).
1- Turn Ignition switch to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.
2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.
3- Turn ignition switch to Ignition and release odometer reset button. Background lighting
sould illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range
and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel, check engine and cruise) should
illuminate. The word ?€?diag?€ should then appear.
4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPt" with
the first P flashing.
5 - Each letter represents an area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing
is the one you are going to check. To move from one letter (module)
to the next, you push the odometer reset button one time. (from P to S to SP to t and back
to P, etc.)

My harley wont start


Key fob MUST be present near bike!
1. Select 5 digit code ( each digit being a 1 thru 9) and record it on the wallet card in the owners manual.
2. With an assigned FOB present, turn IGN key ON - OFF - ON - OFF - ON
3. Press Left turn signal switch 3 times.
4. Press Right turn signal switch one time and release.
*Turn signals will flash 3 times. Current PIN will appear in the odometer. The first digit will be flashing.
TO ENTER NEW PIN:
5. Enter first digit (a) of the new PIN by pressing left turn signal (a) times.
6. Press right turn signal 1 time and release.
*The new digit (a) will replace the current in the odometer window.
7. Enter second digit (b) of the new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch (b) times.
8. Press right turn signal 1 time and release.
*The new digit will replace the current in odometer window.
9. Enter the third digit (c) of the new PIN by pressing left turn signal (c) times.
10. Press the right turn switch 1 time and release.
*The new digit (c) will replace the current in the odometer window.
11. Enter forth digit (d) of the new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch (d) times.

1. Turn the IGN key to IGNITION and immediately hold both turn signal switches until 5 dashes appear in the odometer window.
2. Enter the first digit of your PIN (a) by pressing the left turn signal switch (a) times.
3. Press the right turn signal switch 1 time to move to the next digit.
4. Enter the second digit of your PIN (b) by pressing the left turn signal switch (b) times.
5. Press the right turn signal switch 1 time to move to the next digit.
6. Enter the third digit of your PIN (c) by pressing the left turn signal switch (c) times.
7. Press the right turn signal switch 1 time to move to the next digit.
8. Enter the forth digit of your PIN (d) by pressing the left turn signal switch (d) times.

Harley turn signal problems


The turn signal module (TSM) is an electronic microprocessor that controls the turn signals and four-way hazard flasher. The turn signal module receives its information from the speedometer and turn signal
switches.
On models equipped with a security system
(TSSM), it is incorporated into the TSM module. The
bank angle sensor (BAS) provides motorcycle movement
signals to the module. TSM and TSSM modules are not
interchangeable.
The turn signal module, TSM or TSSM, is located on
the electrical panel located in front of the rear wheel.
When there is a problem with either system, a diagnostic fault code(s) is set. The TSM or TSSM can only be tested with Harley-Davidson diagnostic equipment. If any portion of the module is inoperative, refer the testing to a Harley-Davidson dealership

It's not a button, it's a process that has been the same since 2001. In addition to what is below, there is a list of diagnostic codes as well. Let me know if you don't have them. Too long for this post. Here it is. Thanks goes to Road Captain:

On models not equipped with a tachometer "No Rsp" will appear when the tachometer identifier is selected.

"No Rsp" will also appear if the run/off switch is in the off position when doing this procedure.

Also if the code set is a historic code (not a constant light) after 50 start and run cycles of at least 30 seconds each in duration, the light will extinguish itself as long as the error hasn't occurred again.
If it were a current code, the light would remain lit while running.

How do you access trouble codes on 2003 harley davidson deuce?


With the newer HD Security Systems using proximity FOBs where the key FOB needs to be close to the bike to start, this is now more important then ever. If the battery in your FOB dies and you have not set your Harley Alram Override PIN Code, you will not be starting your bike. It is just as important for those with oler Harley Davidsons with the push button alarm FOB. It you set your alarm and the battery dies before you return to your bike, again you will not be starting the bike.

If you haven't set the PIN over ride for your HD security alarm system...do it now! Here's how you do it...

Setting or Changing Your Security System Alarm Override PIN

Button less fobs (Smart FOB)


1. Select 5 digit code ( each digit being a 1 thru 9) and record it on the wallet card in the owners manual.

3. Press Left turn signal switch 3 times.

4. Press Right turn signal switch one time and release.

Accelerating from 60 to above 70 flattens out at 3200 rpm.


Have you checked to see if you have any error codes (DTC)?

There are two types of trouble codes, Current and Historic.
The Check Engine Lamp will not indicate the existence of historic trouble codes.
There can be codes set in the TSSM without any visual indications ie: Security lamp/Signals

1- Turn Ignition switch to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.
2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.
3- Turn ignition switch to Ignition and release odometer reset button. Background lighting sould illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel, check engine and cruise) should illuminate. The word "diag" should then appear.
4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPt" with the first P flashing.
5 - Each letter represents an area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing is the one you are going to check. To move from one letter (module) to the next, you push the odometer reset button one time. (from P to S to SP to t and back to P, etc.)

Pull any speedometer error codes:

1- Turn Ignition switch to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.
2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.
3- Turn ignition switch to Ignition and release odometer reset button. Background lighting should illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel, check engine and cruise) should illuminate. The word "diag" should then appear.
4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPt" with the first P flashing.
5 - Each letter represents an area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing is the one you are going to check. To move from one letter (module) to the next, you push the odometer reset button one time. (from P to S to SP to t and back to P, etc.)
P = ECM/ICM (Electronic Control Module [EFI] / Ignition Control Module [Carbureted)
S = TSM/TSSM (Turn Signal/ Turn Signal Security Module)
SP = speedometer
T = tachometer
6 - To get the DTC within an area of diagnostics, push and hold the odometer reset button in for 5 seconds and release. If there are any DTC's the code will be displayed or the word "none" will appear if there are no DTC's. Push the odometer reset button again to view additional codes if they exist.
7 - Record the codes.
8 - If DTC's are not to be cleared, Press and release the odometer reset button. Part number of module will be displayed.
NOTE: To determine if a code is current or historic, clear the displayed code by pushing in and holding the odometer reset button ( longer than 5 seconds) until 'clear' comes up. Release the odometer reset button. Turn OFF the ignition switch. Run your bike and shut it down then recheck the DTC's again by repeating steps 1 to 9. If the code is current it will reappear.
9 - Press and release the odometer reset button to continue to the next module.
10 - Turn Ignition switch to OFF.
On models not equipped with a tachometer "No Rsp" will appear when the tachometer identifier is selected.
"No Rsp" will also appear if the run/off switch is in the off position when doing this procedure.

How to retrieve fault codes


1- Turn IGNITION SWITCH to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.

2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.

3- While holding odometer reset button, turn IGNITION SWITCH to Ignition and release odometer reset button. Background lighting sould illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel, check engine and cruise) should illuminate. The word "diag" should then appear.

4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPt" with the first P flashing.

5 - Each letter represents an area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing is the one you are going to check. To move from one letter (module) to the next, you push the odometer reset button one time. (from P to S to SP to t and back to P, etc.)
P = ECM/ICM (Electronic Control Module [EFI] / Ignition Control Module[Carbureted])
