SOURCE: 1999 Yamaha Vstar 650 Custom ...makes clicking noise when trned

i use a jump box on mine most weekends when i wanna take it out, i hook the red to battery and black onto my exhaust and it fires right up no problem. is the clicking noise coming from the fuel pump behind the ignition? it should click for a few seconds then stop. if it stays on then you are not getting enough fuel outta the tank, change the fuel filter and if bike had been stored for winter get a good fuel system cleaner, additive type. if in USA get Berrymans B12, double dose get bike to run hopefully let it stand overnight and all should be fine. fingers crossed. if is is clicking from somewhere else like starter or a relay by the battery, check all the ground terminals you can find

SOURCE: Rejetting a Yamaha Vstar 650

No it will not. You probably don't NEED to rejet at all. If the manufacturer suggests it for your bike and pipe combination I would follow their advice. If they do not suggest it I would use a dyno to get the best performance from your new setup. Keep in mine your new exhaust only lowers the back pressure. You haven't changed the intake parameters at all as far as airflow. So any additional air going into the cylinders due to your new exhaust will only be because of the reduced volume in the cylinder while the intake valve is open. This is a rather small amount, so don't get all crazy and jump several jet sizes at once.

SOURCE: I'm trying to change the speedometer light on my Yamaha VStar

Perusal of a parts manual shows the bulbs to be in sockets with wires hooked to them which press into the outer back of the speedometer head, remove the offending socket (the one on the top, the other 4 are the function lamps I previously mentioned) by gently pulling it outward, the bulb will slide out for replacement.
Have fun and good luck.

SOURCE: Need to remove key cylinder for vstar 650

They are tamper resistant screws which take a special tool to remove. (keeps the average theif from unbolting your ignition switch and easily hot wiring the bike) however the bolts can be drilled out to gain access to the switch and then replaced with a standard type screw upon reinstallation, the choice is yours.

SOURCE: 1100 yamaha 2003 vstar classic gas tank remove

1) Make sure your fuel petcock is closed, then detach the gas line coming off it (left underside of tank)
2) Remove the back seat (single acorn nut on rear fender)
3) Remove the front seat (two allen bolts at the back of seat)
4) There are two metric 12mm bolts under the front seat that hold the tank down. Remove them. The tank should be sitting loose on bike, but connected by some wires
5) Disconnect the white wiring harness under the bike. Tank is now totally free to remove.
6) Pull tank up and back at the same time, it will slide off the two rubber mounts at the front.

I have a 2006 vstar 650, in 5th gear at 57-59 mph I hear a noise like a small washer being shaken in a glass jar, it also happens in lower gears when that special rpm is reached, it does not do it in...

Sounds like detonation or pre-ignition in the engine. I suggest trying high test gas and see if the noise goes away. Your symptoms are consistent with pinging from low octane fuel. Either that or you have excessive carbon build up on your pistons causing the pre-ignition. IF that is the case, run Yamaha "Ring Free" through the tank for the next couple of tanks.

Key will not turn in ignition in Vstar 650. Is

sounds like the tumblers in the ignition have broke or come apart. the easiest way of fixing this would be to replace it or take the barrel to a good locksmith and have them rebuild it.
