The battery looks like it is under the gas tank. the seat, air cleaner, filter, tank cowl and smoke exhaust vent have been removed. Battery looks like it should slide out from the left side of the bike. How do I get it out from under the gas tank? Please don't tell it's under the seat. I'm looking at the battery and it's under the gas tank.

    I'm in my parking lot.
How do I remove the gas tank? Does that mean I have to drain everything also?

  • robinmfiguer Aug 10, 2009

Mostly. I asked how could I remove the tank and that was not answered

  • robinmfiguer Aug 10, 2009

Ok. I don't see how to unclip or unscrew the tank but I do see where to cut off the gas supply.

Her is my problem. I have to move this bike to a location an hour away to be shipped off island. My battery is down and I don't have enough funds to get a mechanic to do it and buy the battery and ship the bike before I fly out. This is a perminent move so I need to know how to remove all of these things now so that I can get the bike to the ship. Would you tell me how to remove the tank?

The gas tank has to come off. It's really not that much more than you've already done. If you don't pull the tank, it's a fight all the way. This way is much easier.

Well, unless you pull the hose and clamp it leaving the tank....
    That's what I'd do.

Echo PB 251 won't run. replaced plug, gas, fuel filter, air filter. took carb a part, and cleaned with carb cleaner, used the compressed cleaner to clean out venturis/ports.

Wow! with all you have done it should run. Be sure the switch is on but if you are getting spark, it should be on. I would take it to the echo place for service.

Car starts but as soon as I press on the gas the car stalls

Just on the off chance, Be careful that this is not a leaky battery, this fluid is a corrosive acid and will burn and eat away at anything it touches.
Some quick things to check...
Check you have plenty of gas in the tank, and check the gas tank air vent for blockages.
Check the Air inlet and Air filter for any obvious obstructions
Check your exhaust pipe for obstructions

Maybe its a choke problem, or some other carburetor problem.

I need to know how to remove the battery

Is your alarm draining it?

I use a schumacker 1.5 amp trickel charger & whenever i am home, it is on the charger to maintain the battery.

The battery is under the fuel tank.

There are two M6 nuts at each side near the back of the seat. You need a 10mm wrench or socket to remove them, then carefully disconnect the wires on each side of the seat base and lift the back of the seat and slide it back out of the frame.

You then need to remove both side covers and remove the tank hold down bolts and disconnect the fuel supplyand return lines. The tank will then lift up and slide back. The tank vent lines will have to be disconnected as well. Work carefully and try to remember the routing of the vent lines to the evap canister. If you mix up the vent lines, gas can ruin the canister and cause problems in future.

You will now see the battery..... make sure to clean the terminals and apply dilectric grease.... tighten securely. (thanks 2 Satguy777).

How to change the02 sensors on a 2003 buick rendevzous

The O2 sensor on your Buick is located on the rear (under windshield cowl side of your exhaust manifold...You might be able to spray injector cleaner on it after removal...use PB Blaster to lubricate before removing the nut...also have you tried running some gas tank fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank recently? Sometimes this will help the sensor to work properly. To clear your "check engine light" you need to disconnect the positive side of your battery cable for about 15 minutes, then reconnect...the light should stay off if all is OK...Hope this helps.

How do i change my air filer under the tank, 01 tour deluxe

The air filter, should actually be under the rider's seat. Key latch to remove the seat should be on the left side just below the seat and when you turn the key it will pop it up. Lift the seat out of the way and you should see the air filter right next to the battery. Hope this works out for you okay!

Where is the air filter on a 2007 c90 1500 suzuki boulevard?

oh so funny you dont sound like an a hole you are one.The gas tank is a false tank you remove the instrument cluster and the 2 tank side and there you will find all of the electronics and fuel injection and even the air filter.Oh by the way the side cover has 2 screws and under that you will find an air regulator that pumps air into motor.I have an 07 and i love it.Even the fact that almost all the upper half is false.

Battery Access

Ana suggested looking under the seat. Not appropriate!

The battery is under the tank, but you don't need to remove the tank, just loosen it off. You need to remove the Right body panel, and the air "tank trim" panels, and loosen off the two oil coolers. They can hang happily enough on the hoses. On the right side under the body panel there is a tank mounting screw that you need to take off. Then the tank can be propped up, but be careful not to put strain on the fuel lines! This will give you access to the battery. I can't remember if you need to take off the air filter box as well.

Try getting a copy of the Haynes manual, it's not expensive and it's very detailed.

I've got bad gas and need to know the easiest way to drain the tank or otherwise fix the problem.

The tank will have to be removed from the vehicle and completely dried out.Gas tanks no longer have drain plugs as they did 50 years ago.Remove the fuel pump from the top of the tank, and thoroughly clean the tank with brake cleaner and compressed air and let air dry for awhile. The fuel pump and filter will need to be replaced with new,and after all the reinstallation, the fuel line must be disconnected at the engine, and the line flushed with new, clean gasoline as well as the return fuel line.Spark plugs will have to be replaced also.
