My bike cuts off when im riding, then cuts back on again. It does this often. As im riding the bike will run fine, then as I get to about 6000 rpm the bike shuts off. Ill let off the throttle and then the bike will start up again.

I think you should check the plugs and spark of plugs.

I know this is not a solution but mine is doing the same thing. I have a 2006 suzuki gsxr 750 It will start and idle just fine. For some reason when im riding more than 45 everything shuts off. Gauges die, rpms go to zero motor shuts off and I have to twist the throttle a few times and it all works again. It done this many times in a 2 mile trip from my job to the shop. I barely made it there. It didnt shut off when I held the clutch and coasted. I will post what they do to fix it. If you have a solution itd be awesome to hear it. Note I already have a new battery and regulator and charging system seems to be working fine.

If is runs better with full choke, then the bike is lean, check for air leaks at the carb manifold, vacumn cracked hoses, non standard exhausts, perhaps the mufflers have rusted out while sitting

Electrical system acting up at high RPM

halogen headlight taillight/brake light turn signals odo/speedo and horn. Here are the problems… Above about 6000 RPM the ignition will intermittently cut out. It doesn’t do it all the time. The higher the RPM the more it tends to cut out. Reducing RPM brings the lights back to bright. Above about 6000 RPM the lights start to dim intermittently. The higher the RPM the dimmer they get to where the lights almost go out. The engine runs fine if the RPM is reduced. The tachometer records some very high RPMS when the system starts to act up. Max RPM recorded is 19999 which is totally unreasonable. I am looking for some assistance in troubleshooting my electrical system and how to isolate the problem(s).,Start by disconnecting the cables from the generator coils and start up your engine. Problem still there? Do this to find out if your problems stems from the power side or the ignition side. If bike now runs fine, I'd look at the voltage regulator. Have you checked that all your connectors are ok? A grounding problem with a somewhat loose connector would be vibration sensitive, hence the problems at higher rpm. Is your stator plate securely fastened? Is your engine grounded to chassis? There might be a loose fastening in one of you engine mounts. Reply With Quote,,,

Low Fuel Cutting

ill fill up tomorrow morning. I slowed down to take a left hand turn. As soon as i started turning the bike started to cut out and hiccup like mad. I rode the corner out clutch in while giving it full wrist to keep it alive. As soon as the bike straightened back up it came back to life. It rained yesterday pretty hard so i drove to work but i bet $1000 dollars that if i fill it up today it will ride fine again. So the question is...clogged fuel filter, fuel pickup, fuel line? My guess is crap on the bottom of the tank and when low the fuel pickup is choking/starving on the sediment in turns. So im just throwing this out there, to see if anyone thinks this the right diagnosis. Thanks for any input.,Thats exactly what happens when you run out of fuel... so it could be a bad filter or pickup clogged.,,,
