Is it possible for the transmission fluid in my 2005 Road King to leak into the crank case oil pan?

if there is a faulty seal on the crankshaft then the gear oil can get to the crankcase
being a separate case with separate oil, check that the breather for the transmission is not blocked and the pressure build up is not forcing the oil past the seal into the crankcase

How many liters of oil does a 2002 road king take?

2.8 liters and then check the oil with the dipstick. With the bike on the side stand, pull the dipstick and check the oil level. There are two marks on the stick. The upper mark is "FULL HOT" and the lower mark is "FULL COLD". Keep the oil level between the two marks. Do not overfill. Your Road Kind and all other Big Twin Harley's are what we refer to as "dry sump" engines. It does not have a reservoir of oil in the cases but rather carries the oil in a remote oil tank. On your Road King, this tank is on the bottom of the transmission,

Removing the oil dipstick. Is it screwed on?

No, the oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission. The oil dipstick it a long plastic dip stick on a knurled knob about 2" in diameter located on the right rear corner of the transmission. Check the oil with the bike on the Jiffy stand. There are two marks on the stick. The Upper mark is "FULL HOT" and the lower mark is 'FULL COLD" do not overfill.

Go here and look at part # 189

The dipstick knob is held in by friction of an O-ring around the diameter of the knob. Just wiggle it while pulling upwards on it.

What type of oil and how much for oil change on my 04 flhrs 1450cc

Your bike came from the factory with H-D Syn3 synthetic 20W50 engine oil in the engine, primary, and the transmission. You bike takes three quarts in the oil tank. Always check your oil level with the dip stick when you change the oil. There are two marks on the stick. The top mark is "FULL HOT" and the lower mark is "FULL COLD". Keep the oil level between the two marks. Now, there are several manufacturers that make good oils for your bike. Mobil V-Twin, Amsoil, Royal Purple, Revtech and Motor Factory. All are good but check their websites for the recommended product.

How do you check the oil wheres the dip stick

The oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission in our RK. The cap is a large round chrome cap with knurling around the outside about the diameter of a half dollar, if you remember those. It's down low on the right hand side of the bike.

Pull the cap and the dipstick out with the bike on the side stand. There are two marks on the plastic stick. The upper mark is "FULL HOT" and the lower mark is "FULL COLD". Wipe the stick off and look closely and it's written right there on the stick.

Good luck

How many quarts of oil is needed for an oil and filter change?

I always put in three quarts initially. Then start the engine and run it for about three or four minutes checking for leaks and to fill the oil filter. Then check the oil with the bike on the side stand and top it off. The dip stick has two marks on it. One is "FULL COLD" the other is "FULL HOT". Since the engine has only run a few minutes fill to 'FULL COLD' mark, do not overfill.

How do you check the auto trans fluid in 1995 ranger xlt 3.0l?

There are two's to check.
1st way is to check it when the reansmission is still cold, whild the engine is running and it's in park. Pull out the dip stick to the transmission which should have a red handle. Pull it out and clean it and push it back in and pull it out again, at the end of the dip stick there are markings which should say cold and hot. If your transmission is still cold do to your just started it. The oil level should at least be in the cold markings or just above.
2nd way is the same as the first, just your transmission has been working. Say you have been driving and stop for gas and everything is hot and you check your transmission oil. The you'ld look to see if your transmission oil is up to the full mark where it say's hot.
Note: It's better to check the fuild to the trasmission when it's hot, just becareful not to burn your self.
Check for oil level and texture of the oil. Oil should be free of bubbles and have a bright red in colour. If there are sign's of bubbles in the oil or the fuild is dark burgundy colour. it's time for a tansmission oil and filter change. Try not to do a transmission flush if you have over 80,000 miles.
Good luck and hope this helps
