If the throttle cables are not from Mercury then you need to get the end fittings (motor side) from Merc. You dont need schematic just make sure you got the right size cables (no tight bends) Throttle controls are changeable but cables got to be for the motor. Aloha
Sounds like you are flooding the engine with gas. Put in a new spark plug then twist the throttle one time to prime the cylinder. Now get your hands off the throttle and give it a few kicks. Each time you twist the throttle the power valve gives a shot of gas. Too much can flood the engine quickly.
it doesnt need wearing in , something is wrong, take it off and make sure the inner moves freely inside the outer absolutely no resistance, and make sure your throttle tube turns freely on the handle bar
Too bad that the censor on this website won't allow the word "but" with the second "t"! Assuming that you've really got "rising ****", and not plain "lift-off" hinges, you've probably got hinges with the wrong "handedness". Rising **** hinges come in left- and right- handed versions (for left- and right- hinged doors): fit the wrong one and the door won't rise! Whichever hand you've got, try fitting the other hand and your problem should be solved.
Good luck! If this has been helpful, please remember to rate my response.
well at first in wont fit because the cooling (LC) system will not fit the 02, but with a little welding and some alum works, you will be able to fit it.
the only difference will be the placing of the mount, weld holes and drill holes on the frame, but before you do so, remove all electric components from the frame.
Put both cables side by side. Are they the same length? Probably not. Go back to the dealer with both cables and ask what's going on with them. It could be that the prior owner installed a non-stock throttle then had the bike shop make a cable to fit, or the longer cable came with the throttle kit.
Your options are to get a new cable made to match the old cable or get a stock Harley throttle. If the throttle already IS a stock Harley part, then I would think the listing of what models the part would fit is incorrect. Have the guy at the parts counter try to match up cables.
