I just bought a 1998 honda shadow aero 1100. I came home from a ride and left the key on. Came out 1.5 hours later and the battery is drained. I don't have an owners or shop manual. I am handy, but I am not sure where the battery is. I think it is under seat. Anyway, I need some help.
Iunder a side cover. More than likely on left side.
iT IS TRIANGULAR SHAPED, PULL EVENLY ST EACH POINT. iT IS HELD ON BUY A REBBER GROMMET . tHE PIN THAT GOES IN THE GROMMET IS PLASTIC ABOUT 1/4 IN DIAMETER. pULL STRAIGHT AND EVRENLY OUTWAT.. tRY NOT TO ROCK THE COVER OR PULL TOO FAR OUT AND AWAY BECAUSE THE OTHER TWO PINS NEED TO COME OUT ALSO OR BREAK OFF.. oNE HAND ON EACH POINT, eVEN SMOOTH PRESSURE AWAY FROM YHE FRAME. gOOD lUCK. lEFT SIDE SIDE COVER.. THE ONE WITHE THE LOGO ON IT.. GOOD LUCK.
You should pick up a low amp trickle charger. I have a battery companion I got from autozone. It charges 6 and 23v and has a a full float monitoring.. Plug o in connector or clamp option. . You can plug it in and forget it. Do not rapid charge your bike battery with high amp automotive battery charger. It will ruin the battery.

How do you get the side cover off? Any trick?
Thanks for the help. Can I use a regular 12 volt battery charger to charge the battery? I plan to take the connectiopns loose and then put it on the charger.
