SOURCE: Can I fit a Valor
Just for information ... whether you're doing it as a 'B' -Vent (Straight up) or a Direct Vent (Straight out the back), it requires an appropriately sized Coaxial Vent Pipe. A Coaxial Vent Pipe is a pipe within a pipe, That has an air space in between the inner and outer pipe. Of course it will also need the appropriate termination cover.
For for technical advice on proper venting go to http://www.valorfireplaces.com
SOURCE: I have an old valor
Here's a link to the Valor website home page.http://www.valorfireplaces.com/
Click on the Downloads tab and you may find the Owners Manual for your gas fireplace. It will show you how to install and arrange the logs properly. If you can't find the model you have, on the manuals page, use their contact information and call them.
Hope this helps you.
