SOURCE: Craftsman 19hp won't move when in gear

There is a square key about 2 " long that fits in the slot on the axle and wheel and locks them together.. You probably didn't see it when putting tire back on and knocked it out. If you go back where you removed tire, you'll find it laying on the ground.

SOURCE: My Harley 883 Sportster suddenly became stuck in 5th gear.

More than likely the shifter pawl has broken. Breaking in 5th gear is kind of unusual however, they usually break between first and second.

You'll have to remove the outer primary cover to look at the shifter pawl. It's partially covered by the clutch assembly.

Testimonial: "Thankyou for your help, I have been looking at an exploded drawing of the Sportster gearbox, so I can see what you mean."

SOURCE: Suzuki Intruder 1400 1996, First to Second Gear is harsh!

Change the fluid in the clutch reservoir, bleed out the remaining fluid.(keep it full as you go) Should be dot 4 fluid not dot 3. U may need to rebuild the master cylinder or replace it.

How often do you change the oil on a 2002 Suzuki vs 800 intruder

Hi, it all depends on the type of riding you do. Mr Suzuki advises 4,000 miles between oil changes. This is OK if you do a lot of miles every time you ride. If you do a lot of short journey's then you need to to do more frequent oil changes. I normally do an oil change every 2,000 to 2,500 miles as I do a lot of short trips. One of my bikes has no cam shaft bearings and I do an oil change every 1,000 to 1,500 miles regardless.

Hope this helps.

Whats the best oil to use in my 1996 suzuki intruder 1400..also what do think of using royal purple max cycle?

Asking about what the best oil to use is liking asking about religion. Everybody has their own opinion. For your Suzuki just use a good quality motor oil that is designed to operate in air cooled engines. If you change your oil on a regular basis (3000 miles) and change the oil filter with every oil change do not spend a lot of extra money on a supreme oil. You will just be throwing away good money that could be used for fuel to take longer rides.

I have a 1980 Goldwing GL 1100 with a stiff clutch leaver. The cable is new and free when disconnected.Still works and changes gears well but really hard on the hand.

Change the gearbox oil. Put in 10w40 motor oil and a new oil filter. Ride the bike for 50 to 100 miles then drain the new oil and refill with fresh oil but not another filter. Dirt and grit in the oil is causing the problem.

Shifting problem 96 1400 Intruder 4 speed

Yes, the bad news is bent shift forks. The engine comes out and dissassembles into about 75 different parts. The gears come out, the the shift drum, then the forks. Not a job for the Saturday mechanic.
