Just make the bike level and check it. It's actually better to check it after the engine has been off for ten minutes or so. This ensures that the oil has had time to drain back into the pan and is not circulating elsewhere in the system. That will help with obtaining an accurate reading

When riding my 1993 Katana for about an hour. It would shut off and would not start back up (just would shut off). I would have to High throttle it just to start it and maintain the idea at high.I know this is not good practice but I have not rode my bike after that happen. I would start it up just to see if the engine would run, and it starts right up, just to cut off after 15 minutes.
I think it might be Lowe old, have not had a chances to check because of work.
Thank you for any help.

Katana oil

I have owned a 600 bandit and now have a GXF 650F, both have a sight glass in the sump with high and low level marker lines. Engine casing about where the toe of your right boot will be. Check oil level with the bike upright not on side stand.

How much oil do i need when doing an oil change on a suzuki gsx600f, 1989?

oil for motorcycles come in 4 ltr bottles as standard.this is more than enough for your bike.3.4litres will do the trick.also you should have a spy glass on the side of the engine caseing so you can see the oil level.there will be a low mark and high mark on the caseing.if you dont have a spyglass then you should have a dipstick attached the the oil filler cap.make sure the bike is level when you fill the bike with oil.once done run the bike for a minute then turn off and allow to stand for 5 mins and check the oil level.top up if nessasary

Me and my wife just got a suzuki gsx 600 katana (used) and im pretty sure the little window that tells how much oil it has is empty. i need to know how much oil i need to buy, what kind, and if its the...

Hi the gsx will have the quantity of oil required embosed on the rh case next to the riders footrest. The quantity required
For all the gsx750 range, is 3.5 litres, 10W40 SG,
When the engine has been standing a while place the bike on a centre stand, or ask your good wife to sit on the bike and hold it uprite, then check the oil level by looking through the window you have found, and the level should be observed, higher than half full but not over the top mark, when replacing the oil and filter, it may take up to 4 litres to fill up to the mark after running and alowing the oil to settle

What type of oil should i use in my suzuki katana 750 to top it off,the oil is a little low

if your using synthetics then stick with a 10w40 detergent brand. But i never fill my oil to the top, i only go 3/4 of the way and that is measured with the bike upright. when i try to top off my bike i almost always overfill and then have to drain out some..overfilling a bike could cause engine damage. Can i get a good review...thanks!
