Check the starter solenoid isn't sticking , you may have to pull the solenoid and or the starter motor out. Check all the connections are clean and tight. The small wire to the starter solenoid itself, and the larger positive wire to the motor from the battery.

SOURCE: 2002 Yamaha V-Star Classic 1100 Will not run over 70 MPH

Hi,
The first thing you need to check is the air filter. Sometimes critters can get into the airbox when a bike sits for awhile. Sounds crazy, but it has happened to me. If nothing is blocking the filter, give it a quick clean since you have it out.
Next things to check:
Faulty diaphragm
Improperly adjusted fuel level
Clogged or loose main jet
Faulty fuel pump
You may not be able to check these on your own, but these are the next likely culprits.
Hope this helped

On start all I get is the starter relay click is the starter my problem, this is on a 2006 yamaha silverado 1100

flat battery?not charging ,fuse ? have you tried bump starting? if you have igniton lights it should have enough charge to start the engine,if you get running, get it in neutral & let tick over for a short while then switch off, then try start, if clicking still occures then replace battery.

Did you ever get this figured out? I have same problem on '04 V Star 1100. Started to take off from a stop sign and everything went dead. Found fuse under seat, it's good; battery is good, put on charger anyway... NOTHING electrical works when you turn on the key. HELP?!

2000 v star classic 1100. The engine will not turn over. Replaced battery, starter solenoid, and starter relay. The starter is good. You can jumper the starter and the bike starts right up.

when you hit yhe start button put a test light to the starter hot wire it should light if not seeing how you done chsngrd thr relay solenoid it could be the stat button itself

V star classic 2000

If battery shows good charge and you hear the starter click it is very common to have a bad ground. The battery ground point is hidden tight in the frame. To check just hook a jumper cable from the negative battery terminal to a bare spot on the frame and try to start it.

Replaced starter relay and stater in yamaha 1100 2001 v star

Charge battery to full, start in neutral, still clicks? Bad ground, or bad connection. Jump starter solenoid with screwdriver, etc. if motor turns over the relay is bad. Chaz Moto DC

When i try to start i get a click the starter doesn't move is it the starter relay or the starter itself?

to find out take your starter off and run a positive to the starter and the ground to a bare side of it and if it dont turn then your starter is bad if it does turn then its the relay

I have a yamaha xvs 650 dragstar converted to a trike it has been stood for 3 months. when i try to start it there is a fast clicking but the the engine does not turn over but will start easy with a bump...

bike needs a new battery. battery is no longer capable of holding a full charge no matter what a trickle charger says. batteries wear out over time. expect 2-3 years from a motorcycle battery.

the clicking sound you hear is the relay flipping between open and close as it tries to get the right amount of amperage to turn the starter.
