Ratio codes generally indicate a pressure loss & slipping which the computer reads as a gear ratio problem. Likely you need a rebuild.

Ok ready to stand on your head under the dash?
It's doable... there is a flange connected to the gearshift lever under the steering column. If you remove the lower dash cover where the fuses are, you should be able to see it when you move the gear shift lever... look around on the floor of the truck to see if you dropped a star-headed bolt or two... these bolts worked loose on my superduty and made shifting very difficult..it was an easy fix... let me know how you do on it.

If I understand you correctly, you have ALL forward gears working, but reverse doesn't?... then the problem is in the transmission itself or the linkage on the trans linkage into reverse.

No 'probably about it, You have a bent shift fork. This requires a complete teardown of the transmission and is NOT something a novice mechanic should try.
Install new crankshaft bearings and seals while the gearbox is split open. You will be sorry if you don't. Source your parts including a gasket set before starting the project.
I wish I could be there and do the job just for the fun of it. I repaired bikes for 12 years. Understand, fun for me doesn't mean it would be fun for you. If inexperienced, you will probably end up with an engine in a box.
By the way, you will need an impact driver, case splitter tool, and a puller for the armature (flywheel).
Just so you know, you can make your bike a 175cc simply by mounting a 175 cylinder, piston, and rings. The 12volt starter will bog down on occasion due to the increased resistance of greater compression but the bike will be quicker and faster.
