I bought a new ignition for my 2005 katana its the right plug but the colouring wire is different can I just ut them in the right places on the plug @

Has the bike been sitting for any time longer than 4 days? 4 days is enough to clog idle jets. Cleaning the carbs if it has carbs, is the first defense against idle to low rpm stalls. Pull the carbs and clean them out. Definitley will help you out.

Why would you install a universal ignition switch that has to be frankensteined to get it to work? The proper switch should be no more cost wise than a universal one and will exact fit with no adverse effects that may arise from butchering any wiring
