A rectifier is an electrical device that converts alternating current (AC), which periodically reverses direction, to direct current (DC), which flows in only one direction. The process is known as rectification, since it "straightens" the direction of current.

MODEL RECTIFIER CORP .TECH 2 DUAL POWER 2800 what is the wattage of this power pack

Google search revealed the following - "The 2800 is rated at 10.6 VDC, 8.5 VA which translates to 1.25 amps",
which is rather confusing as VA for practical purposes is the wattage (of the output) and 10.6 volts at 1.25 amps is wattage of 13.25 while the quoted VA of 8.5 suggests a current of only about 0.8 amps is available which I think is somewhat unrealistic. This is presumably for each output...

How to check to see if rectifier is charging. The part number is585195 .it is a 1996 90 hp Johnson model number j90toleda

rectifiers do not charge ,
their purpose id to change ac current to dc current to run the electrical circuits connected to the battery
it is the voltage regulator that controls the charge from the stator of the motor
using a multimeter set on volts dc
connect across the battery and read the voltage ( 12--13.2 volts ) start the motor and increase the rpms to around 2000 rpm and read the meter
it should be 14.5- 14.8 volts dc
that indicates that the system is charging
if not , take it to a service center that has a marine electrician to fix the problem

WHAT IS PURPOSE OF NOISE FILTER ON VIKING VMOC205

The noise filter is to block electrical noise, not auditory noise. "Noise" in electronics means any unwanted or unintended electrical signal.

The purpose of the noise filter is to help prevent any electrical noise generated in the wiring of the microwave from getting into your house wiring, which could cause interference with or disruption of other devices.

If your microwave is making auditory noise, then it may be a loose cover or panel, a rubber bumper fell off the high voltage transformer, or one of the components is failing.

A loud buzz, hum, or groan is usually a shorted high voltage rectifier diode, but a sound like gurgling into an empty coffee mug is one symptom of a failed magnetron, and yet the magnetron can be bad without that sound.

If either of those two were bad, it would not cook.

Out of range 64.0 KHz / 60 HZ

It might be because of wrong screen resolution. This problem can occur because of hardware as well as software change.

To rectify this issue you will have to set your screen resolution to lowest visual settings. For this purpose you can try restarting your PC to safe mode and then modify your screen resolution.

Sometimes setting your monitor to factory defaults can also rectify this issue.

You can view http://www.techyv.com/questions/why-do-i-get-out-range-message-my-monitor for more information.

I hope this would be of some help.

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!! dead short in the brown power wire and traced it to the voltage regulator pulled top off and pulled the contacts apart and there is no more arc were i cut the brn. wire and touching...

hi go to the other side panel take it off and check the condition of the rectifier its a finned alloy
component and check for heat damage melting of wires etc if there is its toast find a replacement
I have seen these catch fire
its purpose is to turn three phases of ac electrical charge from the alternator to one dc charge
to the voltage regulator so could be the source of your trouble if it has a dead short
the bad news is that this has happened so often on this model of bike you will have trouble finding a good one to replace it with avoid patern replacements as they tend to be very unreliable
honda cb250 rectifiers are a lot more plentiful and can be modified to fit

When it is switched on to wash it makes noises, beeps twice and then no water enters the washing chamber

The dishwasher does have a anti flood device that once activated does 1) Stops water entering the washer . 2) Puts the pump out motor on.
The device is a float (polystireene plate) with a small micro switch. The purpose of this device is to protect the washer if any water leaks onto the floor via leaky pipe or a blocked pipe can also cause this problem.
Check and rectify any water leak and dry the base of the washer.

Hi, The rectifier of my honda CBR 1000f year of made: 1992 has just burned again. I had the old one replaced last november 2009. I want to know what the problem could be that the new one has burned. What...

The three yellow wires carry AC current from the generator to the rectifier. The rectifier turns this AC current into DC current and sends it back to the battery through the red and the black wires. I am not certain what the purpose of the 7th wire is on the new rectifier except that it may be used for thermal sensing of the rectifier - which would explain why it is mounted tight to the unit.
Of all the components that make up your Honda's charging system, the rectifier is the most likely to fail. The reason is usually excess temperature buildup - which causes the diodes inside it to fail. If you are running extra electrical accessories on your bike, this can cause the rectifier to overheat and die. Same thing if you frequently let the bike sit until the battery goes dead, the rectifier works hard to recharge it each time.
You may be able to extend the life of the unit by avoiding things that put extra strain on it, as described above. Also make sure there's nothing covering the cooling fins on the rectifier - or blocking airflow to it (dirt, that extra pair of gloves stuffed next to it, etc.).
Finally, there's one thing that will kill the rectifier instantly: connecting the battery cables backwards. That'll fry it every time.

PDM-0723 won't recharge batteries. HELP!

Hello,
Try cleaning the batter contacts with a pencil eraser, sometimes they build up a residue that prevents good contact between the battery and the system. If that does not work the problem is either in the rectifier circuits or one of the many small transistors on the board. A rectifier circuit is made up of diodes and it's main purpose is to change AC current to DC current as that is the type of electrical current all electronics work off of. The transistors act as switches with special purposes and properties. The proper way to test these components is to remove them from the circuit and test them with a multi-meter. The bad news is you will have to have a qualified technician to do this, so that means a trip to the repair shop. Hope this give you some idea of what might be going on.
