Ok buddy on carb is a mixture screw turn this in 1/4 of a turn this is reducing the amount off fuel going to the cylinder if it pops this is too much fuel going in do screw it in until it runs smooth
Ollie, you are incorrect. This is a shadow vlx carburetor. The mixture screw is on the rear end of the carb. So the opposite is true. You will check the mixture screws which are under aluminum caps on the side of the carburetor towards the bottom. (the aluminum caps may already be drilled out and removed) If not, you will have to do this. There is a forum dedicated to shadows. Check their for the procedure. You will turn these screws OUT to give a more rich mixture for your idle circuit. This can reduce popping. Also, make sure you synchronize that twin, as you will get MUCH better performance from the machine and throttle response will increase too.
