I've removed the petrol tank, the fuel is not

On a "Skyjet" Honda replica 125R I've removed the petrol tank, the fuel is not getting through the round thing that is attached by a union nut to the tank. (Where normal bikes would have a tap) The filter sticking up out of it is clean and blowing up the pipe blows petrol out of the top of the thing. The pipe at the very bottom seems to be some kind of valve. How do I check the thing is working. The bike wont start and has sparks aplenty. When it did start it only did so for a few seconds and died- sounded like fuel starvation. Help please JJ

has the 'fuel tap' got two pipes running from it - a thick one that goes to the carb and another one? if so, the second one is probaly a vacumm operated switch and should be connected to the inlet manifold - with the tank off and fuel in it, try sucking on the thinner pipe ( gently as you dont want a mouth full of fuel if you get the wrong pipe) and let me know how you get on.

Honda uses a vacuum triggered valve in their petcock so fuel will only flow when engine is running. the 'bottom pipe'is most likely your vacuum connection.

My KS mower is leaking petrol from a round thing under the petrol tank, can anyone tell me how to fix this please

If the leak is a fuel filter or a hose of course replace them, however if it's part of the fuel tank housing, J-B Weld is a mixable two-part adhesive that has incredible permanent bonding power and can be used on fuel tanks

I need to drain my Honda Activa petrol tank as I need to transport it to Bangalore. How do I do this.

Shut off valve at the bottom of tank. remove fuel line from carburetor and point it into an approved fuel container. Open fuel valve and drain tank. If you have a reserve setting on your valve, turn it to that to get all the fuel out. Then, look the the bowl of your carburetor. At the bottom there is a small drain line. Above that drain line is a slotted screw. Point that drain line into a container and turn the screw left to drain the fuel out of the carburetor bowl. Retighten the screw after it drains. Place your fuel tank valve to off.
