On a "Skyjet" Honda replica 125R I've removed the petrol tank, the fuel is not getting through the round thing that is attached by a union nut to the tank. (Where normal bikes would have a tap) The filter sticking up out of it is clean and blowing up the pipe blows petrol out of the top of the thing. The pipe at the very bottom seems to be some kind of valve. How do I check the thing is working. The bike wont start and has sparks aplenty. When it did start it only did so for a few seconds and died- sounded like fuel starvation. Help please JJ

has the 'fuel tap' got two pipes running from it - a thick one that goes to the carb and another one? if so, the second one is probaly a vacumm operated switch and should be connected to the inlet manifold - with the tank off and fuel in it, try sucking on the thinner pipe ( gently as you dont want a mouth full of fuel if you get the wrong pipe) and let me know how you get on.
