There is a screw in the chrome cover, remove it then remove cover. Next you will see three screws holding the air filter on. Unscrew them and pull filter off.

A lot of motorcycle manufacturers add a yellow oil to the air filter as an added measure to emove prticulates from the air.Sometimes if moister is introduced to the system for any reason it mixes with that oil causing air intake restriction.Remove filter and clean with a mild solvent and soak filter with manufacturers recommended oil and you should have no more problems.Good luck..................

Yes you can replace just the switch on your bike. I would guess that the switch is the same as a flhtcu on your trike. Here's a link to Bike Bandit with a drawing of the switch housing and the switches that are in it. http://www.bikebandit.com/2008-harley-davidson-touring-ultra-classic-electra-glide-flhtcu/o/m18634#sch624738 This is a 2008 model but I would also guess that it's the same switch. You could compare the part number at your local dealer to find out. Or, you could just buy the switch from the dealer and use the diagram for information only.

take the screw out and you should win. Make sure to put plug in on the parts of the bike that can be removed it will make life ezer down the road. Take your time and remove parts of the bike to hide the lights so all you see is the light not where its coming from. More peolpe will look and you'll be happier when you turn them on the first time. i like to use some painter tape as a temp. and turn them on step and see if you like it.

The bike has a tube coming of the air box that you drain as neded. Additionally you have a 9 year bike and these items build up with miles, and yes age. So be sure to inspect and replace these items per the owners manual. No big deal just part of owning a bike.
Buick says that the front bumper has to be removed in order to remove the headlight assembly. Crazy, I know.. I found that you can remove the air filter box on the drivers side and squeeze your hand in a small hole to replace that bulb. The passanger side is nearly impossible. You can remove to nuts holding the fuse block in place and move it over a little and squeeze your hand in a little hole and reach it. Plan on two to three hours to change one bulb.
