Numerous issues with my 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo

I recently took my Jeep in to my mechanic to have a severe oil leak fixed. Along with that he identified numerous problems. Here are the problems: Engine mounts are torn, transmission mount is oil soaked and mushy, brake system needs a flush, transfer case is leaking from case halves and shifter, auto transmission due for service and flush, right front axle boot is torn, and left axle boots are cracked, also, I just noticed it is leaking coolant pretty badly. I don't want to sink a ton of money into a vehicle that is barely worth anything but I don't have the money to go out and buy a new AWD vehicle. Which of these problems do I need to get fixed so I can drive my Jeep for another year or so?

That all depends were in the world you live? go see another machanic!!! i would? but it depends on just how bad things are with it, the engine mounts will tear off in time? the transmishion mount's soaked in oil,and mushy,,,,so what???? its still holding the gear box up? tell him to go!!!!! brakes need a flush??? change all the fluid???? who dose that on an old car?
not me thats a wast ot money,!!! transfuer cases leaking oil,,, tighten the darn bolts up then!!! auto transmishion need servicing????? just keep it toped up, fix it when it brakes, auto boxes go on for years so long as you keep the oil toped up and dont put dirty oil in them,,,,axle boots,,, rubber boots over the drive joints split,,, ok,, they will let grit into the drive joints and this will wear them out prity farst,,,how long do you wont to keep the car??? tarmack roads should be ok for years, but dirt roads will kill them prity fast,,,ok now this coolant leak,?? just how bad and were from?? if its from the radiator,,, put in some rad weld!!! or stop leak,,, it dose what it sayes on the can??? it stops the leak!!,,,
to be honest iv got the felling you are a young woman with puppy dog eyes, and you are very gullible,,,,,,,,
and you just went and let a dam big ugly wolf look at your car, and i think he's just about to eat you,,,
if you give him the chance, you would need to sell both your kidneys to pay him to do all this work, if i was you i would drive it till it drops
or see another mechanic,,, (not a wolf) good luck

The oil leaks, just keep the levels full. The engine mounts, unless they are torn apart, let them ride. The front axles, let them ride, its going to cost the same now or later, they need to be replaced. I would FIX the coolant leak. ASAP. once you overheat or do damage to the engine, the whole truck is scrap.

95 Jeep Grand Cherokee leaking ATF, shudders when driving

Bank1 sensor 3 O2 heater. This can cause the shudder as engine adjustments are made.

The O2 sensors have built in heating elements to rapidly heat the part and save fuel. Its possible that engine is trying to adjust to compensate and is why it shudders.

As for trans leak, get it up on the rack for inspection. Could be simple pan gasket. Quick change oil/lube could see it.

My 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo, straight six, is having a problem that the oil pressure gauge goes to 0 and my check gauges light comes on but when i accelerate it goes back up and the light goes off. ...

Your problem could be the result of a bad pressure sending unit but I would take care of that immediately. If the pressure doesn't return to normal after installing the new unit, do not drive 'til you have a mechanical gauge installed and the actual pressure checked and the problem corrected.

A/C is blowing out hot air and need to know how much refrigerant is needed

interdynamics makes a neat little setup for r134 install. It's a trigger release can top with a hose that fits right on the system. it has a "dummy proof" gauge on it that tells you how much is in there till its at the right level. I have a full set of gauges and use the easy can more than the gauges! (I double checked several times and the can thing does read correctly) There should be a charge label on the compressor or on the radiator cowl.

1995 jeep grand cherokee loredo wont go pass 40 not the tranny.

Hissing noise and lack of power is classic converter failure. Hole in the headers likely started the problem. It was going faster before he fixed the hole because the exhaust had somewher to escape. Do the cat and youll be fine...Good luck and don't forget to post a rating!
