On the 88-89 katana there is a circut breaker much like a house breaker so if u push the reset u should have all power again unless u have a electrical issue that keep popin the breaker then u need to fix that first

Check and make sure you are getting power to the distribution box (fuse box). Then check and double check your grounds. Also, go to www.katriders.com and post there. much more help there.

How to fix 2004 Suzuki 1600?

A few questions so I can help. Is this a Suzuki motorbike or a car? What EXACTLY does it do when you turn the key? How did you 'check for electric'? A vehicle battery should have between 12.6volts to 13.2 volts.
When you turn a starter motor over it needs a large amount of volts to power it, anything under 10 volts and it will struggle. Even a fully charged battery can struggle to turn a starter motor if it is old or faulty.
Try this. First look at the battery and check the terminals are clean and tight. Sometimes it can be as easy as that. Turn the key and look and listen carefully. Try to start the engine. Do you get absolutely nothing and no dash lights? Do you get dash lights which go off when you start the bike but you only get a quiet 'Click'? Do you get dash lights which go off and then a louder 'Clunk'? Does the engine turn over but it's very slow and lazy?
Absolutely nothing suggests a dead or totally flat battery and a lazy, slow starter is a low charge in the battery. A Quiet click could be the Starter Relay and a louder 'Clunk' could be the starter solenoid or the starter itself.

I connected booster to battery while battery was connected to bike and it sparked. I cannot get no electrical power to my 2001 suzuki katana 750

You may have accidentally connected the leads in reverse, or the booster was too big for a rather fragile system. If your battery is junk, a booster won't remedy the problem, it must have a good battery in the circuit. Make a careful visual inspection of all the wires off the battery, test particularly the positive lead for continuity, some bikes have an inline fuse or the cable itself acts as a fuse. If you have no lights or nothing chances are it's the primary (heavy) leads that's the culprit. Make sure your terminal connectors to the battery, and the black to where it grounds to the chassis are clean. Best of luck

When trying to start my 2001 katana it jus clicks doesnt turn jus clicks..i charged the battery already same..the wire to starter looks exposed and is a little loose were it connects to starter..

it must be tight on the starter.
check battery voltage when fully charged. it should read over 12.5v for a good battery. anything less then get a new one.

My suzuki katana 750 will not start and there is a new charged battery in it. Why will it not start? The electric starter button does nothing, other than dim the lights. I checked the fuses and they seem...

It sounds like your battery is no good. have it load tested a good battery under a load shouldn't drop below 11 volts. if you starter button is only dimming the light it is a good guess that your getting power to the swtich and the starter motor but the battery dosen't have a juice to turn the motor.
good luck

When i turn the key, nothing happens, not even instrument lights. bought a brand new battery and still nothing.

when purchasing a brand new battery usually you have to fill it with acid then you actually have to charge it, you just cant hook it up and go. after doing that double check the battery cables make sure it has a solid ground then i would check the fuse box and make sure all the fuses are good then i would check the ignition switch make sure nothing is grounding out. hope this helps
