Your friend is wrong. All that will do is make the engine smoke a bit until the oil is gone. Remove the tank and put a handful of large bolts and nuts in it. Add 1/4 tank of denatured alcohol then shake the tank all around for a couple of minutes. The nuts and bolts will scrape off any rust very well. Dump the alcohol and the hardware then flush out the tank.

Get a liquid fuel tank liner and follow the directions on the label.
Google kreem liquid fuel tank liner “ or go to www.http://www.4secondsflat.com/Fuel_Tank_Sealer.html

With apprila Rs 125cc 2 strokes bike. I fill up with 98 octane unleaded and I poured 2 strokes oil Into petrol tank. is it possible can damage the engine?. at the moment I couldnt start the engine.

well you cant damage it by doing that but if you put too much n and didnt shake it well it will settle at the bottom of the fuel tank and fill the carburettor up with oil as oil is heavier than petrol.why are you not using the oil tank and oil pump fitted to the bike ?best thing to do is put a new spark plug in it turn the fuel tap off roci the bike bacwards and firwards to mix the oil and fuel in the tank, and drain the carburettor by undoing the 14mm nut in the centre of the bottom of the carb, then turn the fuel back on and try and start it up.

I put petrol in my diesel car

If you accidentally put petrol into your diesel car there is an unbelievably easy fix for it.
firstly get a paper coffee/tea cup(sold in most garages) fill it with any type of engine oil and add it to your diesel tank.(apply it in two half-cup measures and you will not spill it everywhere), then fill your tank with diesel. your engine might splutter a bit but the engine oil will compensate for the petrol and it should correct its self. Do this again the next time your tank will take a few gallon of diesel and it should be fine.

How to store your motorcycle for winter. Storing your motorcycle.

As the summer months start to come in, we all like to get our motorcycles out and start riding them, but i hear a lot of people saying help, my bike wont start! That is because when you last parked it in the shed for the start of winter, then you made no preparations. With a few simple steps, next summer, you can get your bike out, and fire it up without any problems, ready to ride. There are things you must do when you go into storage, and a few things to do when you bring your bike out.
OK,so winter is approaching, and you want to put your bike away in the shed.
First thing you need to do is drain some fluids. Drain your engine oil. Then drain your gas tank and carburetors. It is important to drain the carbys, as the fuel left in the float bowl will go bad. You can choose to totally drain your gas tank, or fill it to the top with gas. Storing a tank full with gas, leaves no room for moisture to form, causing rust on the inside of steel tanks. Next, you need to also disconnect one lead from your battery, or even better, if you have a trickle charger hooked up to it. Thats about it really. Also,if you are confident in doing so, remove spark plug, or plugs, and spray some penetrating oil down into each cylinder, turn engine over to work it through. This will prevent any moisture or corrosion from forming on the inside of your cylinders. It is also a good idea to clean or replace your spark plugs each year anyway.
Now it's summer, and you want to ride, just roll your bike out. Put in some fresh engine oil, a fresh tank of gas, and a fully charged battery, you are ready to go!

Nr 2;3;4 silinder liner +pisten seized no indication of overheating engine was overhaul 30000 km ago

You are right. Petrol was put in your tank causing your Pistons to over heat.Petrol does not have enough oil in it to lubricate the cylinders causing the motor to seize.Your lucky it didn't blow a hole in the Piston. This is a common problem especially when your old car was running on Petrol or If a friend borrows your car but usually they have a note on your dash or where the gas cap is. The engine will have to be over hauled or replaced with a used one. I hope this helps you out.

I have just bought a 1988 vespa px 125 under the seat there is 2 holes one for the petrol and one that says oil ive put 2 stroke oil in the oil tank and petrol in the petrol tank today i hit 50 and the...

older Vespas without separate Oil-tanks need a premix of 1:50 oil in the gasoline - but yours is an automatic oil-mixer type.
check the oil-level-glass under the seat near the choke.
it must be full of oil - the oil tank can hold about 1 liter of 2-stroke oil. How much oil did you fill in?
Probably the previous owner removed the oil supply tube and filled always an oil-gasoline premix. You better ask him about it. If the tube was removed then there was no oil supplied to your engine and it got stuck and the engine bearings are blown.

What kind and how much oil should i put in the crank case of my 1975 suzuki ts 185 and would to thin oil cause it to lose compression?

ts 185 is a two stroke, the crank case oil is actually only the gearbox oil, the volumne is caste onto the side cover(like 750cc).near the filler cap.
The engine oil is mixed with the fuel and is pumped in from the oil tank under the seat.
The wrong oil or no oil in the tank under the seat can cause it to lose compression. and cause engine damage.
Visit a bike shop and get motorcycle gear oil20w50 for gearbox. and two stroke motorcycle engine oil for the oil tank.
As it is quite old someone may have removed the oil tank, thinking they will make it go faster or save weight or another stupid reason, if this is so you need to mix the two stroke oil with the petrol when you fill the tank at approx 25-1 ( 25 litres petrol mixed with 1 litre of oil)

Put I one tea spoon of Engine oil in to petrol tank to increase the performance?

I have not heard of this .... I will not say it will not work ... but neither do I recommend it.

I heard if you put a few moth balls in the gas, that will increase its octain ... and the engine will really run fast on this 'fuel', but I'm afraid of what the naptha would do to my pistons.

I would think the oil would possibly foul the plugs and possibly temporarly seal the rings from the top ... if your engine were in less than optimum condition, this might help temporarly. The oil would burn up and probably leave deposits in the combustion chamber.

Once upon a time, there were water injectors for automobile engines and they helped, I heard (it was before my time) that is until someone said if a little water is good (inceases compression because water does not compress) then a lot of water will be better and engines started coming apart.. I have also heard a little water into the carb at tune up time will clean the top end of the engine - help get rid of carbon ... who knows.

It will be interesting to see what others may think about this.

1994 Kawasaki ZZR-400 Leaks oil and doesnt start sometimes.

that box is called the air box, its where you engine breathes in its air. you say its leaking oil? these boxes are normally a bit oily but only really surface oil. If you can actually see liquid oil you have a problem with your petrol shut off. When the bike isnt running petrol will leak into the engine through the piston. When you start the bike all the petrol mixed with the engine oil will be pumped back into the air box. also check the level of the engine oil, if too much has been put in there then that can also be pumped back into the air box. If the petrol and oil has been mixing you must change the oil as petrol thins the oil and your bike could catch fire, the engine wear will be really bad.
