For this level of repairs it is probably worth you buying a good quality workshop manual for your vehicle as this will list every torque setting you will ever need. There are also some basic manuals available for free online if your prepared to hunt for them.
First you want to remove brake fluid from brake resovoir, raise front wheels off ground and set park brake or block rear wheels. Remove front wheels, keep steering wheel unlocked so you can turn rotors side to side. Loosen bolts that hold caliper end gently pry caliper free from rotor, remove caliper and remove pads, use bungy cord to hang caliper away from rotor, have rotors measured to see if they are thick enough to have machined, replace if out of specs. Match up pads with old ones, use anti- squeak red liquid and put layer on back of pads, let dry. Use tool to put pistons back into calipers, slowly put pistons back into bore while opening up bleeder screw so ABS won't be damaged. After rotors resurfaced, wash with rubbing alchohal to remove any oils from hands, install rotors and reverse putting pads back onto caliper and reinstall, torque caliper bolts to factory specs and tighten bleeder screws. Install wheels, torque lug nuts to factory specs and replace brake fluid in resovoir. Lower car carefully to ground and press brake peddle without pumping it. Any air in system should bleed out, if not get someone to help with bleeding system. Road test to ensure no squeaks or pulling, burn brakes in slowly.
YOU NEED REMOVE A LITTLE BRAKE FLUID FROM MASTER CYLINDER.THEN YOU RAISE VECHICLE SAFELY.SUPPORT IT WITH JACK STAND.MAKE SURE VECHICLE IS ON LEVEL SOLID GROUND.REMOVE TIRE OR WHEEL.THEN YOU NEED A LARGE C - CLAMP.PLACE C - CLAMP OVER BRAKE CALIPER AND BRAKE SHOE BACKING.TIGHTEN C - CLAMP JUST ENOUGH PUSH CALIPER PISTON BACK IN CYLINDER BORE TO REMOVE CALIPERS FROM ROTORS.TO REMOVE BRAKE CALIPER YOU NEED 2 OPEN AND BOX END WRENCHES ONE TO HOLD CALIPER SLIDE PINS AND THE OTHER WRENCH FOR LOOSEN CALIPER BOLTS.THEN YOU REMOVE CALIPER AND REPLACE FRONT BRAKE SHOES.IF YOU NEED TO REMOVE BRAKE ROTORS JUST REMOVE THE BRAKE CALIPER CARRIER SUPPORT BOLTS THE REMOVE THE BRAKE CALIPER CARRIER SUPPORT THEN REMOVE ROTOR.YOU NEED TO REPLACE BOLTS WITH NEWS AND USE LOCK TIGHT.THEN YOU PUT IN NEW BRAKE PADS IN CALIPER PUT CALIPER BACK ON SUPPORT CARRIER.REPLACE WITH NEW BOLTS USE LOCK TIGHT THEN TORQUE BOLTS TO 26 FT LBS.MAKE SURE MASTER CYLINDER COVER IN PLACE.WHEN YOU FINISH REPLACING BOTH FRONT BRAKE PADS PUMP BRAKE PEDAL TO SEAT BRAKE SHOES AGAINST BRAKE ROTORS SO YOU WILL HAVE FIRM BRAKES WHEN YOU APPLY THEM. The Camry brake system is very simple and easy to work with
Raise and support the car safely and remove the front wheel.
Undo the two bolts that hold the brake piston to the caliper. These are the two bolts toward the front. Remove and support the piston in a manner that does not place any strain on the brake line. For example, you can use a length of string to hang the piston from the strut spring.
With the piston out of the way, undo the two remaining bolts closer to the axle, that hold the brake caliper to the knuckle. Remove the caliper.
The old pads will slide out of the caliper. Note how they fit in place before removing them, so you can place the new ones the same way. Remove the shims from the back of each pad and place them on the back of the new pads.
Slide the new pads into the caliper.
Bolt the caliper onto the knuckle.
Use a clamp or a piston expander to push the piston back so it will fit over the new pads. Take care while doing this that you do not overflow the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir.
Put the piston back in place over the pads and bolt it onto the caliper.
Make sure all bolts are torqued to spec.
When replacing the pads, remove and inspect the rotors. If necessary, have them turned or replace them.
Also, inspect the calipers and make sure the spring arms move freely. Inspect the caliper hardware (clips and springs) and replace if necessary.
Inspect the pistons. If necessary, drain and refill the pistons with fresh brake fluid, and bleed the system.
With the brakes back in place, check that the brake pedal is firm or firms up after a few pumps at the
most. If not, you will need to figure out why.
Replace the wheel, lower the car, torque the lug nuts to spec, and you're done.
Brakes are an essential safety system of your car. Follow these instructions at your own risk. Refer to a complete service manual.
Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.
Safley jack up vehicle.
support vehicle on safety stands
remove front wheels
Remove 2 bolts holding the caliper to the caliper support.
remove caliper
remove old brake pads
remove 2 bolts holding caliper support to the spindle
remove rotor, might need a good whack with a hammer to loosen rust bond, also might have a locking ring on one lug stud
sand any and all rust from wheel hub
apply a liberal coating of antisiezing compound.
replace rotor and one lug nut to hold rotor steady
replace caliper support
replace new brake pads making sure squeel sensors are on inside upper corner, also make sure to apply caliper grease to caliper slides and pad sliding surfaces push caliper piston back.
replace caliper
replace wheels and torque to specs
lower vehicle
pump pedal
road test listening for any noises.
PS. these are generic instructions that are very basic, performing a brake job is a very precise and careful job. remember this syetem is responcible for stoping your vehicle at 65mph. this is not a job to attemp if you do not have a good grasp of mechanical applications. One mistake could cause you your life or injurt to your persons or someone else. if you are not comfortable undertaking this task please consult a professional.
please feel free to ask any additional questions you might have.
one bolt to remove, and the caliper will swing out of the way. Get a C-clamp and loosen the brake bleederand compress the piston back into the caliper. Tighten the bleeded screw & take the clamp back off after the bleeded screw is tighten!!!! When U purchase the pads, make sure the you get the jelley type, RTV the you put on the metal of the pad backing to keep the brakes from squeeling when you apply the brakes going down the road, Install the pads, and put bolt back on. Your finish, brake job done.
