Hey Bayside,,
Sounds like the carburetor needs the attention of a qualified professional..install a new (correct) spark plug,,
Have the pro clean, check, and set the carburetor, you should be ok,,
after a year sitting idle chances are that the gas inside the carb has degraded and the carb will need cleaning also when you filled the tank did you remove any old fuel? if not the its contaminated with the old gas
give it a full service new feul clean carb clean air filter then it should start
You will need to remove and clean the carbs on the machine. Old fuel can clog a the jets causeing the problem you are experiencing. You may also want to change the spark plugs due to running it while the carbs are not right it can foul out the plugs.
hi yes the one on the float also check the float height if it is adjustable you will tell if were the float needle sits there is a metal tab.if youn are getting white smoke you maye be burning oil make sure you havnt over filled the oil.i know this may sound sillyy but are you sure you never put diesel in the tank by mistake coz that will make it smoke a lot if the fuel feels oily and dosnt smell like petrol drain it out clean the carb agian and replace the spark plug
THERE IS ONLY ONE THING THAT WILL CUASE THIS, PLUGGED IDLE JETS AND PASSAGES. REMOVE THE CARB AGAIN AND SOAK THE CARB IN A STRONG CLEANER OVERNIGHT TO DISOLVE THE HARD WHITE RESIDUE THE BAD GAS LEAVES BEHIND, JUST RINSING AND BLOWING THEM OUT WILL NOT WORK IN MOST CASES.
sounds like the float is not working properly , could also be the jet. would be a good idea to buy a carb kit, not very expensive and save a lot of grief.
