I have a ZX9R C1, I noticed a while a go that when giving big handfulls, at low revs on the motorway the clutch would slip. I have been using the bike daily for work in the wet, for the last 3 weeks, so have been taking it easy as the Dunlops spin for fun , I got a dry day yesterday and had no probs, however today, clutch is slipping everytime I accellerate. Has the clutch give up? or are the springs worn,
Clutch springs need upgrading?,this may cure problem without having to buy new plates, also hopefully you hav`n`t put any friction reducing oil in the engine,as these products can cause a wet clutch to slip, also an old trick is to add an extra metal plate into the pie,but sometimes there isnt enough room in the clutch basket, also check the clutch cable is releasing properly[2mm of free play at the lever],cheers
Yes that what I am thinking that happened.
The clutch fiber plates and springs will need to be replaced.
