That is an auto adjusting clutch. If it is slipping then either the adjusting mechanism is broken or your clutch is worn out and needs replaced.

SOURCE: 92 NISSAN MAXIMA SE . CLUTCH SLIPS WHEN CAR GET

either the clutch operating arm has no free play so its over adjusted which is my first suspect ,or the clutch itself is no good and the spring is weak ,now was this a new clutch from a motor factor or a scrapyard job

I have a 5speed manual transmission and it sounds as if the gears are grinding while driving in all gears. The transmission shifts ok, and does not slip, just makes the noise. Can the gears be out of...

The clutch needs an adjustment. What's happening is the clutch isn't completely engaging while you shift, causing the grinding. Once properly adjusted, the grinding will disappear.

My 1999 nissan maxima won't go into gear, even after putting in new clutch fluid. Why will it still not go into gear?

there is too much free play on your clutch pedal, this can be adjusted,or there is air lock in the piston for the clutch pedal, take the air out

1996 nissan maxima clutch sticks to floor

yes, Briong the pedal up where it belongs, then open an fill your master cylider. Then go below and open the bleeder intil the fluid runs/drips steady and free of any bubbles. Do not pump the pedal. When only fluid comes out, tighten/close the bleeder and give it a try. Good Luck. If peal dives again, replace the master cylinder.

the forward clutch pack is worn or the fluid pressure is low, either scenario requires a trans overhaul to correct.

How do I bleed the master clutch cylinder

Drain or bleed? The bleeder nipple is on the slave cylinder. Fill master cylinder, leave the cap loose, open the bleed nipple at the slave cylinder, and let gravity do the rest. whe vo more aie bibbles come out and it drips steady. Close the bleeder, top of the master cylinder and you are done.

How do I bleed the master clutch cylinder

It will take two people, one to push clutch peddel, and one to open bleeder, same as bleeding breaks, the person pushing peddel pumps peddel a few times and the last time holds to floor, other person opens bleeder to let air out, and then closes bleeder while peedel is still depressed, do this process over and over untill you get clutch or a steady stream of fluid with no air , while keeping an eye on fluid level in resavor.
