I have a dodge ram b250 1994 needed a new batt went and bought one after i put it in the van is completely dead no lights no nothing so its not the batt checked all the cables even put the old batt in nothing just dead any idea what happened just turned it off did what i said now its dead

check ur battery cables an connections for resistance causing a bad voltage drop upon starting.chek ur grounds at the blok for bad rusted connections and wiresthat are all corroded, peel insulation bak to inspect wires for corrosion

ECM..engine control module

check the wiring brom the batt, especialy the grounds, you'll find it

The head light switches are common to go out.

Check it for any trouble codes,with the battery at full charge. Could be the coolant sensor for the ecm,but need some more info.

do the lights come on in the front if its just a little red light its possible you tripped the security on the van . or is it the batery light flashing and the battery is dead

my ram 50 starts just like any other vehicle, (no light switch pulling whatso ever), it sounds like somebody haas rewired something wrong or you have a loose connection and when you hit a large enough bump it cuts your power. Start it up and find a speed bump somewhere and drive over it enough to give your truck a jolt and see if it dies.

the computer does not lose programs after power lose. check the ground cables or the asd relay. and get a new mechanic
