Your bike apparently has a safety mechanism where the engine shuts off while in gear, if the side stand is extended. The wire you fixed may not have been fixed properly. There is a switch at the end of that wire which senses the kick stand position. See if that switch is working properly. You can bypass the switch by shorting the wire, but remember it's a safety mechanism and it's better to keep it fixed.
This problem may have many reason but you can try one of the solutions, when suddenly engine stops and kick rod is going smooth without resistance try push and start by directly in 2nd gear or 1st gear and after it starts keep the engine running by giving small revs for a min....
sounds like the shift rod is worn its a common problem in sports bikes if they have been shifted a lot without the clutch most of the time they get where they will kick out of second gear on there own but sometimes they can get stuck in second depending on how the wear has gone
KICK HARDER TRY PULL STARTING IT..IN SECOND GEAR..DOES IT HAVE ENOUGH COMPRESSION TO START?IT SHOULD START PULLING IT...START OFF WITH NO THROTTLE THAN IF NOT STARTING CRACK THE THROTTLE SO LIGHTLY AND SHE SHOULD FIRE OFF WHILE IN GEAR BEING PULLED OF COURSE BE CARE FUL NOT TO RUN INTO. WHO EVERS PULLING YOU..USE A LONG TOW ROPE..IF YOUR NOT A SEASONDED RIDER AND KNOW YOUR BIKE VERY WELL I WOULD NOT ATTEMPT THE PULL START...IF NOT CHECK YOUR COMPRESSION AND TIMING..MAJOR VACUUM LEAK MAYBE AT BASE GASKET..IS ENGINE SUCKING TO MUCH AIR? GOOD LUCK..
There is a safety switch on the kick stand of that bike that keeps it from running while in gear. It sounds like that switch is bad and killing the bike as soon as you put it in gear.
Check the plug. I have had a very similar problem just recentley yesterday infact. It could be that you are running the oil mixture too rich as well...Good luck
hi.... the two 2 most common issues seem to be: (1) the wire breaks off on the
outside or is pinched by the sprocket cover, or (2) the copper contact
piece on the end of the gear selector in the tranny breaks off its tab
that holds it in place and stays touching (grounding out) the Neutral
wire. thank you....hope this helps you.....good luck...
