start by checking fuses and horn relay, next check the ground on the horn it self, and if it still wont work you may have to change horn ,to check horn just put power to where horn power would go to it ,it should blow .
now carburetor adjustment is improper...so the carburetor need to clean and adjust proper setting...and you need to replace the battery because some battery will show reading 12.8v, but when you apply some load it will not supply the voltage, yet you can confirm the battery's health by high rate discharge test...
start by checking your fuse. if its not blown, then make sure you have power going to the horn when horn is engaged. If you have power, then horn is blown, time for a new one.
neither do i honk anymore ,its known as old age and things go wrong ,so try checking for power to the horn first then go from their ,like no power to horn ?why not ,and if power to horn i? is the horn working
How many Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) does the battery have? Do you hear the starter solenoid engaging with it's loud click? You didn't tell me what year and model bike you're working on either. When you press the start switch, what happens? Do the lights dim or go out? I need more information. A horn doesn't take much to get it to work. To start an engine takes a huge amount of power.
you need a different tranny because the reverse is a direct gear and is doent engage, the reverse doest work with the drive gear system,so you have a internal mechanical problem in you tranny
sounds like you might have a bad ground, and power is back-feeding trying to find a good ground which would result in the problems you described, check this first its cheaper than a control mod
open and close the lid a few times. can you hear any clicking noises, you should hear the lid engaging the lid switch. if the machine doent think lid is closed it wont funtion( safety reasons)
