As a general rule, add more fuel and more air
The tricky part is keeping it balanced at all the rev ranges especially at idle.
You could try finding a larger main jet, freeing up the air box and experimenting with your mixture screw.
Better still, find some other DT owners to see what performance mods they have had success with.
not too difficult, get a manual, there are some tricks involved, you will need to raise the vehicle a few feet off the ground and access to a tranny jack, a good had floor to work on and about 8 to ten hours
the other trick wrap battery in a cloth then put in paper bag then a plastic bag put in freezer for 24 hours this will wipe the charge memory in battery.then leave at room temp for about 2 hours and recharge .try run laptop without batt,if it runs with shutting of the batt is dead. dt
Typically Suzuki bikes all set the same way. Turn the ignition on, press the select and reset buttons together. The trick is to press the reset marginally before the select and hold them until the time starts to blink, you will work out pretty easily which button alters hours and minutes.
You need new regulator and new battery. The battery works as a filter as well.If it is in bad condition it does not filter anything and in high rpm the current is very high.
