1989 Suzuki Katana. What are the different key positions settings? How do I get to the battery please?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to one of the Katana Categories.

The Katana comes in 3 flavours - 600 F and 750 F and GSX1100.

I was hoping to find an owners manual. Switch normally has 3 positions, Off, Parking Lights (remove key) and Power On (key locked in place). The battery on a larger bike is normally accessed from under the seat, smaller bikes from behind a side panel (left side).

1996 Suzuki GSX 750 F (Katana) main fuse keeps blowing

Hello, I'd check for a short along the wire to the frame. Also, it's rare that the starter solenoid could be shorted. Use a multimeter on ohms to ring out the wire(s) that activate the solenoid. There should be low resistance for the solenoid, but it should not be zero or .1 ohms.

Suzuki 750 katana 1996 no power to cdi

you've earthed something out, have you checked fuse.
brown is your live wire on cdi, (seems to be the original problem). you could make your own connection to live. but disconnect original cdi if you do incase it earths out. i wouldn't take it from battery though as will constantly be on. find a live that only comes on with ignition key. i.e look at ignition key wires.

My suzuki katana 750 will not start and there is a new charged battery in it. Why will it not start? The electric starter button does nothing, other than dim the lights. I checked the fuses and they seem...

It sounds like your battery is no good. have it load tested a good battery under a load shouldn't drop below 11 volts. if you starter button is only dimming the light it is a good guess that your getting power to the swtich and the starter motor but the battery dosen't have a juice to turn the motor.
good luck
