Water pump mechanical seal is worn out, you will need to replace the pump or the mechanical seal if you can find one. The hole on the underside sure sign that this is the problem.

I have a 2007 sebring and i have a coolant leak from a small 1/4hole just above the thermostat housing

Hello,
Water pumps have a built in "weep" hole. This is a spot that is built into the water pump that signals the car owner when the water pump's internal seals have failed. When the water pump is leaking from this hole it is time for replacement.
Good Luck!

Dodge nitro 3.7 .its leaking antifreez near the water pomp i replace the gasket but still leaking it the termoste house its good .when i turn on the car it dosent leak till about 2 min.

The water pumps have a small hole in or near the bottom. When the engine is cold, it will seal the hole but when it warms up, it will expand the seal and leak. You should be able to see coolant coming out from under the vehicle or using a mirror. If there is coolant coming out, replace the pump. Changing the gasket is not going to help if the internal seal in the pump is bad. Hope this helps.

1983 F-150 Ford 302 engine, my problem is all of my coolant blew out of the water pump housing that is mounted on the engine, does a plug go in that hole.

ALL ! waterpumps have a hole=1/8" approx dia. underneath the main shaft that holds the fanblade to wp. shaft. When shaft bearings start to go H2O will usually leak out of here due to the seals going too.
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH VAPOR LOCK WHICH OCCURS WHEN THE CARB AND GAS LINE BECOME HOTTER THEN THE BOILING PT OF FUEL.If your water pump is not moving enough coolant through the engine block and then the radiator you can get VP Loc(but engine will probably be boiling over//DO NOT OPEN RADIATOR CAP AT THIS TIME=YOU WILL BE SCALDED,,let it cool down.
Remove and replace water pump(you might have to pull radiator no big a deal) to get access to all bolts holding w pump on. Back flush engine block and radiator:pull thermostat to make sure correct temp to open and not stuck.Replace parts=you are done!
NOTE: If you overheat on the freeway; turn on the car's heater(it has an extra radiator to cool down engine) and stop AC. Good luck-Fly

Leaking coolant from a small hole located in the block right under the thermostat housing coolant inlet. we removed housing and gasket replaced gasket and installed, leaks from small hole?

water pump failure, water pump on these run off the timing chain and the timing chain runs in oil, so they could not just put a weep hole on the pump because it would go strait to the oil pan, instead they redirected the coolant from the leaking pump to just below the thermostat housing. And good luck, it's at least a 6 hour job on these. Brandon-MO

Overheating, thought upper hose was leaking replaced that but still leaking is the thermostat in that area?

Your thermostat is located where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine under a housing. If it is not leaking there then check the bottom of your water pump. Look at it from underneath and you will see a small weep hole in the water pump housing. If it is leaking there your seal or bearing packing has gone bad. Simple solution- replace the water pump. The other reasons for overheating could be a stuck thermostat which will cause the vehicle to overheat within about 5-10 minutes after starting. The other cause could be a radiator that needs to be roded and cored because of to many deposits internally causing restricted flow of the coolant. The thermostat could be cracked or rusted out also. Try to gain access to a system pressurizer to find your leak. I have given you just about every scenario to check to find your problem. Good luck.

Leaking antifreeze, not from radiator but on belt iI believe it the water pump

Check your bottle cap, ensure that cap is tight. If it is, replace cap. Cap is not holding pressure.

Water leak right next to inlet hoses for heater core . could there be a drain hole there

Yes, they typicaly about the same size as a pen. Make sure that it is just water comming out, and not coolant. If water, this is normall from condinsation, if coolant, you will need to change the heater core.

Coolant leak ford aerostar 1996

SOUNDS LIKE THE BEARING PACKING IS STARTING TO LEAK IN THE WATER PUMP. YOUR ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE PUMP. IF YOU GET UNDERNEATH AND LOOK UP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WATER PUMP YOU WILL SEE A SMALL WEEP HOLE AND THERE YOU WILL SEE THE WATER COMING OUT TO VERIFY IT IS YOUR WATER PUMP AND NOT ANOTHER ISSUE.
