The first thing to check is the fuel bowl.
Shut off gas, remove the fuel bowl, clean it out, ensure that the float goes up and down smoothly, turn gas on and ensure that lifting the float stops the gas.
Reassemble and try again.
That was my point, the bike is running hot. The Twin Cam engine has always seemed to run much hotter than the Evolution engines did. I know of several people that bought then sold their TC88 equipped bikes for just this reason.<br />

If your fuel mixture is lean, it will cause your bike to run hot. A # 46 is not a good number for an S
Does your bike have a fuel shut off or a vacuum pump? It sounds like the carb, throttle is leaking fuel with the bike off and it is running into the oil. Could be an explosive situation.Check out the fuel pump, make sure it is not running, or the shut off, make sure it is shutting off. Hope this helps.
Two possibilities.
1. Your float needle is leaking (most likely). Remove the carb, remove the float bowl. You will see the float itself and it has a tang that touches the float needle. Remove the float and inspect the needle and its seat for dirt or wear. You could try gently tapping the float bowl first, as this may dislodge and dirt, but thats a short term solution.
2. The float level is incorrect. You will need to bend the float tang to adjust. However, find out the float height for your bike first.
The fuel flow was not shut off when you found the leak right? If your leak has not returned then it was most likely caused from the fuel being forced back through float bowl, then up and out the air inlet in to your air cleaner. How much fuel did you find? Once the flow has been shut of to the carburetor there's not much fuel left to leak out. Maybe a 1/4 cup. If you had more then that it had to be coming from the tank.
i am no expert on bikes but i do know a little. on some bikes and engines in general if the oil gets low, it has a sensor that will shut the ignition system down to prevent damage.
check the oil and make sure it's up to par.
if it was a gas filter chances are it wouldn't just shut off, it would show signs of low gas like chugging and the like.
