I have tried to push it in a 3-rd gear, even in 5-th gear, but 3 cylinder engine is very hard to push-start it. I've tried starter from another Benelli TNT 1130 and it started right away. I'm just asking WHERE CAN I BUY A STARTER FOR BENELLI TNT 1130? I've been searching for replacement parts and I couldn't find it, so if I don't find a starter in the next couple of months I'll throw the bike.

Bike will not start with clutch out.or kick stand down.. we all have the same , that will screw with the push start. anything can make the bike sound bad. just jump the bar. if you think the bike sounds bad. just turn off, let sit for five min. restart or rejump. the bike will reset.steven

1995 3.1D Isuzu bighorn it's hard to turn over even after its warmed up. Once u get it going it runs fine. Turns over easy if you crash start. Put new battery in still hard to turn over.

if it is easy to push start but difficult from the starter motor , I would pull the starter and check it out
from memory they have a stepped starter and the idler gear in the housing can cause a problem
however a bench test by an accredited auto electrician will find the fault

2004 pt crusier stopped running whiledrivin it on the rd and wont start and engine will not turn over will not print out any codes and timimg belt is not broke whats the problem

Take out the spark plugs and see if it turns over and water is shot out. If so, the head gasket has gone and filled one or more cylinders with water. Another option is , was it overheating and seized up? Has it run low on oil and seized up?

Hi there.
Well because its a auto box you could have a band or pump problem which is in the gear box and is bathed in auto matic fluid oil and that could be your problem as the bands do wear down fast on a lot of cars and BMW with there power that could be you.
So take it to a auto box people and get it checked out.

ok this post is about cranking speed.
it can only be a few things.
1: weak battery. try a spare, or jump it?
2: bad starter or solenoid.
3: bad starter cables.
4: bad starter key line. (small wire) and things upstream.
5:engine full of water in the cylnders. (hyrdalocked)
6: engine spark timing way off, and motor is trying to start backwards (distributor way off or just loose at base.
time it.

id need to hear this start, (or touch car) to answer correctly
as you might not know fixing cars is a hands on deal.

I've noticed the starter drive gear does not stay engaged On the E-Drive starter with the flywheel if the engine does not start as in the older Prestolite style starters. Why?

Becausethe starter drive gear disengages after each starting attempt, the engine ismuch easier to hand prop should the battery be too low to provide normalstarting voltage. Though we do not recommend had-propping an engine, it doesoccasionally still happen in the field.

I have a 87 ford ranger, hard starting, I have changed the starter relay, same problem, load tested battery checks good, changed starter worked for about 3 months problem came back replaced starter again...

Put a draw meter on the starter lead to see how much juice it is taking to turn the engine. Sometimes bad injectors or even a leaking carburetor can flood cylinders and in effect hydro-lock the cylinders. Was the water level constant or can bad head gaskets drain into the cylinders?

Add a ground strap to the block. Could be that frame ground fails and it affects starter. The strap is not that expensive to try.

2004 John Deere 118 tractor, 22HP Intek engine. New battery, but still won't turn engine. I can manually turn it by the pulley but the starter just clicks....when it did work, the starter took a couple of...

It sounds like a starter problem. If the starter was used heavily -long runs or multiple times to start the engine- it could be shorted. Overheating is the enemy of the starters and happens when a starter is used hard to start a balky engine. Repalcing the starter isn't a big job and many B&S engines use the same starter. Find a working starter, replace yours with it and try to start the engine (with clean plug and full battery.)

It is also very possible that the compression relief valve is malfunctioning. It s mounted on the cam shaft and opens the exhaust valve to bleed compression from the cylinder(s) when starting. When it doesn't hold the valve open the starter can't throw the cylinder past top dead center TDC) to relieve compression. The work around is this: turning the pulley manually past TDC will allow a good starter and fully charged battery and clean plug to turn the engine and fire.

B&S has a high failure rate for the compression relief valve and states that the valve clearances are critical for the valve to function properly. And when the engine is worn and valve clearances are set right but it still malfunctions... the company has various reasons why YOU caused the problem.

Replacing the compression relief valve etc takes 3-5 hours and at $65+/hr you can see what the cost is- not including the relief valve which costs somewhere around a $100 (more for larger engines.) Even after replacement, it might not fix the problem.
