I recently had my plugs changed (6 months ago) because my bike refused to fire up. After the fix my speed triple ran great. Unfortunetly 6 months later I found myself in the same situation, again the bike...

Check your plugs when that happen and see if they are wet or dry. If they are wet that means that you have too much fuel and that is the problem. If they are dry then it's probably something electrical....

I have a 82 gl 1100 goldwing. The previous owner

The fuse on the starter solenoid is the main fuse for the bike. If that fuse was removed and replaced with a wire, you could melt down the entire harness or even burn up the cycle. The short that was popping the fuse has probably melted part of the harness or popped fuses in another part of the bike. Start checking in the main fuse box in the fake tank for shorts. Also check the solenoid with the main fuse for melt down, good luck.

Headlight burns brighter when rpms rise then light burns out

Hello,

Be sure there is a voltage regulator/rectifier in your system.
Its a little aluminium block with small cooling fins, and should be fixed with contact on the chassis.

You can take every regulator, even from a moped for a simple electric circuit.
You just have to know if your bike was a 6V or a 12V one

Otherwise, you can easily make a regulator by yourself, a diode bridge, and a 12V regulator from your local electronics shop.

Knocking sound

Does this knocking sound change/subside when you pull in the clutch lever? As the clutch baskets wear or go bad they develop free play between the basket and the drive gear that is riveted to it. Since you don't know ''dick" about bikes i suggest you either pick up a shop manual or go see dick, who hopefully knows more than you! Internet diagnosis can git a bit complex, especially when you don't know your way around the machine! You may get a ton of suggestions but following them thru may be beyond you abilities?
