I have a new license plate cover with brake lights and turn signals, but i cant figure out how to connect the wires on my 2004 honda rune motorcycle

Sounds like you need to have it installed professionally. You could damage your wiring on the bike if you mess it up.

cheak to make sure they are wired correctt it sounds like you might of crossed some wires does the indicatoer stay lite when the turn switch is off that would licnence plate light hooked into signal

Hello Carol, The 7 way is for use with a brake controller and/or a trailer that has electric brakes. The 4 way flat is a basic trailer plug connector.
Connect as follows:
Green wire- Connects to the vehicles right turn wire harness & provides brake light and right turn signal on trailer.

Yellow wire- Connects to vehicles left turn wire & powers brake light & Left turn signal on trailer

White wire- Ground

Brown Wire- Tail/ marker/ license plate lights

The Blue, Red & Purple wires on the 7 way will not be used on the adapter, those are for brakes.

Take out the tail light bulb and carefully look at the contact plate. Some times a contact will sink or melt into the plate and not hit the bulb contact. If the plate is cocked at an angle see if you can wiggle it straight. I have taken the contact plates out of other tail lights and turn signals and replaced them in my Honda tail lights when the plates have gone bad. Also check that all of the green grpund wires are plugged in.

Goes from fuse box to rear brake lights, license plate lights, your turn signal switch (left clip-on), the dash panel and also shares power with the speed sensor..... 10 Amps. Is it a blue/brown wire to that circuit ? also,, check the lic plate light,, any of those that have gone to ground will blow this fuse big time

Check the contact plates inside the bulb sockets. On old sockets sometimes one of the contacts will melt or sink into the plate causing half the tail light to not work. Many times I have taken the plate/with wires out of a different light and repaired a socket. I have also changed turn signals from front to back by switching the contact plates. Horns are notorious for not working. Check it by hooking power directly to it. If you have done a thorough plug and unplug of all the wire connections, your next option is to carefully take apart the handle bar switch and clean the contacts. If you ave already tried another flasher unit (12 volt trailer flashers are cheap) be sure to replace the old fuses with new ones. Old fuses sometimes separate internally and no longer work correctly.Also do not be afraid of taking the ignition contact base off and cleaning that. If you take off the ignition switch, put the key to the on position, push the three tabs, you can pull off the electrical contact base , carefully disassemble it, and clean it. Good Luck

Sounds like you have a short somewhere, or the wiring is backwards. Start looking at all your wiring.

Does the fuse have power in and out when a test light is used? This test would be run with the light switch on.
