Hi, Saisoku this happens to a lot of bikes and different brands it is usually caused by water getting into the fuel system and/or moisture getting to electronic components, wire connectors, wiring harness. This situation usually clears itself by letting the bike sit for a couple of days in the sun. For more information about your question please click on the blue links below. My intruder's ignition has become erratic, sometimes i have enough charge to start the bike, other times not, duration of the last run seems to have no effect on this! what should i look at first??

Check the battery terminals and it's connections it could be corroded with acidic powder, also check the starter solenoid switch and also check the starter button switch too..many atimes this accumulates carbon and thus fails. Check the charging rate of the charging system on your bike's engine. @idling it should show 13.8-14Volts.

Mine has the same fault. The ignition sensor leaks to earth when it is hot so engine cuts out. I've had two sensors fitted. But They still leak to earth. Trying to get Suzuki to sort, permanently.

Can you help me with startproblem suzuki vs700. Sometimes it start with now problems, sometimes not. I hear som ticking noise. I have changes start relay

On the right side of the bike right above the right front corner of the front cylinder there is a small braided cable. This cable needs to be taught but not too much. This cable opens a port to relieve the pressure on the front cylinder to make it easier to start for that little battery. It activates when you push the starter button. If it has stretched then when you try to start it, sometimes it will start but sometimes it will crank really hard and click, just hot and cant turn over fast enough without this working.
Too bad you had to waste the other money on parts, / Simple fix with a wrench only, no parts needed. Now you have the beginnings of a parts shop.

Suzuki intruder 1500 charging system

You need to buy a volt meter and set it on 10, or 20 v-. Start the bike and see what it says. A good charging system will show 13-14+ volts. If the meter says 11-12 volts or does not change, you have a bad stator, or rect/reg. Take to a shop to have it further tested. Chaz Moto DC
